Pole Position AR

The test points are there, but just not populated, but you can touch your meter to where they are supposed to go. There should be one marked +SENSE (note, not the -SENSE one), and any of the GND test points.

You can also use the bottom (positive) side of the C1 cap (if you are looking at the AR so you can read the text, though they are often mounted upside down in the cab). The positive cap lead gives you an easy place to clip your meter to.

Note you also want to measure the voltages on the game PCB as well, to see how much voltage you are losing in the harness.

measuring at Sense+ at the AR2 ... doesn't that effectively tell you what voltage you have at the board then?

a possible gotcha....are you testing the ARs w/o the PCB plugged in? If so, you will likely get inaccurate results because of no load on the AR and because of sense lines.

Just for reference/discussion...I am paraphrasing.
The manual states to "adjust" the ARs
1) measure voltage at the PCB +5 and Gnd test pts.
2)Then measure at the AR GND and +5reg....test point for +5 reg is + of C1 as mentioned.
3) if you measure more than 5.5 volts at 2 then you have too much resistance between pcb and power supply.

Unfortunately, I don't think the ARs were designed to test easily w/o a load or maybe some are or some aren't.
