THE BIG DOGS -------> THATS YOU GUYS.

I have been working on a pole 2 for about 8 hours, here is my problem.

SEE PHOTOS

titlle screen graphics messed up.
car/sign graphics messed up.

all else working.

I have been swapping out chips till no end. (all socketed video board chips have been swapped)

I got the prepair to qual speech working now by doing this.

i only have a couple more larger chips on the main board, to swap.

after that --- only non - socket chips. sucks.

based on my problem, and pictures - what do you guys think?

i have several pole 1 and two boards .

what chip is for the car/signs?

Thanks.

AFTERNOON BUMP.

reseat the chips specific to those errors according to the manual. if that doesn't work then replace the socket. the sockets on pp are as bad as galaga. you're getting intermittent contact somewhere.

Your problem may be on sheet 15A of the video board schematic.
One of the 74s161 are bad. 10h, 10j, 10l, 9h, 9j or 10k.

or one of the RAM 2149 are bad. 10f or 9f.

You can check for asymmetric readings with a logic probe between 10h, 10j, 10l, 10f versus 9h, 9j, 10k, 9f.

My guess would be the RAM.

I'm going with the RAM, too.

Now i have a idea to start with,

Are the RAM 2149 10f or 9f. same on a pole 2 as a pole 1?

Thanks
