Woodworking guys:

Seeking noob advice from the Gen X'ers! 😉

Best way to go about this chunk missing from my Pole Position kick plate? Moving mishap…

Sand down to flat then Bondo another piece of wood, scrape and flatten, sand, prime, paint in that order? Something else? Enlighten me with skill.

You could probably just build it up with Bondo layers, then paint. It will probably never see hardcore arcade use again so probably the cheapest and easiest.

That's where you're wrong. I operate an arcade out of my house and charge the neighborhood kids their lunch money to kick the shit out of every kickplate I have! 🤪

I did figure this was probably the easiest though.

Cut out a small piece as close as you can to the missing chunk ( assuming all the loose stuff is out ) .
Glue /nail it into place.
Fill in the gaps with sawdust and wood glue mixed.
Sand smooth and paint .
It will be stronger than the original.
Bondo is noob paste .

He has spoken 😳

I assume you fixed this.

Funny you should ask. See pics. Pole Position as well.

I filled the gaps and screw heads with noob paste (bondo). Then sanded and painted. Not perfect but only I'll know.
