The gameplay is meh. It's mostly repetitive, addictive and halfa**ed. Gameplay mechanics could of had a little bit more depth added to it. It makes sense they went with Freemium, get it into the most hands as possible.

The concept was novel and was bound to happen. I can appreciate that the game getting people out of the house to explore. But, outside of overcrowded parks, it doesn't reward you enough for exploring clever public places off a street. Ironic, because playing this game on the road or near heavy traffic is the worst possible thing to do on your phone, but the best way to catch them all.

The game needed to have more intelligent locations for pokemon to appear. Having them show up on others property and placing gyms in private locations is just stupid. Could of taken more time to do research. That's shame on the developers, for being too lazy on such a massive game map.

Hope to see other developers do something better with the concept.

Algorithms generate what's going on around you, what is where, etc for the most part. It's only as intelligent as that. I don't play it, but I work with people that do. Hearing 30 something year old men say "I caught a pookiechoo" and "Let's set a trap by this stop sign and be on the same team" is pretty goofy.

The game is bringing all the World of Warcraft geeks outs their mom's basements. I have zero interest in playing and from what I have seen (this part is stolen) most of them should try to catch a jobasour or a careerachu and not waste time on that game. Two guys here in the office kept talking about it and were told to STFU or have plenty of time to catch them when they are unemployed.

That's pretty harsh. I'm sure most people who don't collect arcade machines see us in the exact same light. Do you think that's fair?

Fair? These idiots are driving around causing accidents, walking on other peoples properties and out geeking away the night. None of what I do with arcades is anything like the above. Hell I hardly play arcades to be honest. It's this weird 20 something can't grow up generation that dont realize your 20's are when you need to bust your ass to setup a future not chase little Pokemon. I speak with a 25yr old son doing this exact thing and I'm embarrassed that he plays that shit.
This generation thinks the world owes them something. You gotta work for it. Put the phone down and work.

If life was just about work none of us would be here.

If life was about work and only work during your teenage years and mid-20's, again, none of us would be here because you wouldn't have any nostalgia memories of these games from around that time.

If your son isn't setting up a future for himself and playing Pokemon all day that's probably his own problem and generally not a worldwide epidemic, certainly not caused by Pokemon. Or, if he's playing occasionally, so what? Again, different time periods bring different things.

I can agree with you that this generation is a bit fucked but certainly wouldn't base that around one video game.

Also, this is borderline of "people older than [X] shouldn't be playing these games" which I find highly ironic considering where we're discussing this, times two, due to ownership of said thing (let alone multiple) rather than just popping quarters in one.

I guess what ever keeps the mindless sheep busy. This is just like all the people who lost years playing world of warcraft. Same shit just takes less learning so even more people sucked in.
Wait until someone gets shot trespassing and the home owner thinks they are being robbed and really it was some dork trying to catch a hufflepuff.

I feel like there's much less potential to get sucked in for years, at some point it must get boring. It's more of a personal thing, there are some that will stay sucked in, and others that will only do it on their free time/at a healthy amount. Just different personality types, probably the same people who would get sucked into World Of Warcraft if they took in the same interest.

So that's why everybody looks like this now

I'm over 40 and I play it and I don't think anyone owes me a damn thing. When you're done screaming get off my lawn at the introverts who are finally walking around outside for a change maybe click a few of these links and feel better about the game :):

Marine vets playing Pokemon Go find man wanted for attempted murder *they not only caught the guy, but possibly prevented an abduction or some other terrible act...

Animal Shelter Wants Pokemon Go Players To Walk Dogs (people are lining up to walk shelter dogs while they play ;D!)

I work in mental health at a children's hospital, Pokémon GO is already doing wonders for kids with disabilities

CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS NEED YOUR HELP! (pokemon players are helping the kids stuck inside!)

I believe that has already happened. 15 year old went into a lady's house in the middle of the night and got two shots in the chest.

I played WoW religiously for several years. I also had a job at 15, moved out at 18, and I've successfully started my own business which I now do full-time. Please, tell me how playing these games and being productive are mutually exclusive things.

Glad you are getting sunshine. I can link twice as many bad links about shit happening because of these "introverts".

You are the exception and not the rule. You can really break the mold if you have touched more than one woman. ;)

You go where you aren't supposed to be to catch a snifflefluff and instead you catch a 9 gauge to the chest. Happens. Weed out the idiots I guess.

And I would argue the exact opposite. Everyone I played WoW with had careers and families. Most of the people I know who play Pokemon Go do as well. A lot of them are parents playing WITH their kids. It's a new medium where they can interact with their kids. You're making a very broad generalization. Not everyone who plays is a virgin idiot that walks into oncoming traffic. Not every Christian attends Westboro Baptist Church. Not every arcade collector has TMNT sheets.

now that shit was funny!

If only the dog could see them too.

P.S. Don't be a dumb ass and walk your dog on the hot summer sidewalk. You try it barefooted.

Since I don't "do" smart phones (hell, I don't do cell phones... smart or not)... this game has zero interest for me. That said, people have been injured playing this stupid game. Someone is going die from it... and that would be horrible. No game is worth someone getting killed.

Being 44 years old I have no interest in Pokemon either. I always thought Pokemon was some toddler cartoon or something?!
