after several people in one day made mention of the game and then a few stories about it on line I down loaded the app and gotta say its fun but has the potential for some stupid accidents, I captured squirtle first.

My daughter and boyfriend are already obsessed with it.
Here is a pic she took on the local college campus today of people playing Pokemon Go. She said most of the folks in the pic were playing. I counted 27 folks staring at the phone.

Funny, I just heard about this for the first time yesterday. I saw references to it on reddit, but didn't know what they were referring to. So I googled 'what is this new pokemon thing', and of course Google came through. (It's amazing how little info you have to give google these days.)

It's funny when you realize those moments in life when a new thing enters your consciousness for the first time, which you know is going to become commonplace, and be 'the next big thing' in a very short amount of time.

The times they are a changin'.

I walked around the park for like 20 minutes with my kids today to unlock the Pikachu starter option. Now we have Pikachu as our first Pokémon and we can get started playing tomorrow. It was way too hot out today. I don't have a fancy smartphone so I had to download it to my wife's iPhone and had to delete 2 SHMUPS from it as a "don't kill me for taking up more space on your phone with games" peace offering. I'm very excited to play!

I can see there is a gym at the college near where I work. I'm not invested enough to want to walk over there.

this game is actually not a game ... it's dangerous and i'd advise anyone with loved ones playing it to PLEASE talk with them and convince them to avoid it.

i found an informative documentary about it here:

there is a gym right across the street in a church parking lot, going to the park later to catch some more!

Server was down for a couple hours tonight. I think too many people are playing, there was a bunch of people out tonight playing including a bunch of Boy Scouts from the troop right next door.

Go 'Murica...

Mind you reading the article, dumbass took his hunt a little too far.

But he wont be the only one.

In a less life threating related story, the Holocaust Museum (and I'm sure every other museum, monument, and memorial) have had problems with people playing in the museum. I'd beat someones @$$ if I saw them playing a game inside the Holocaust Museum, especially if it was an augmented reality one. Have some respect.

you think the people in the museum would understand that you should NOT try to catch them all ...
