I was just curious what the production number were for Punchout and Super Punchout. I just recently got an awesome deal on a Super Punchout and noticed the serial number was 9562.

Funny you bring this up. I just (about 15 minutes ago) scored an awesome deal on a nice Punch-Out!! and was wondering the same thing. :)

What condition was your PO in?

To my suprise, the Super Punchout was complete and worked. It needs work on the control panel, some paint, new side art, and a cap kit. Oh yeah, the back door. I hate it when people jack the back door because they lost the key. They tug and tug until the door opens and leave a gaping hole.

I'd really like to know Nintendo's production numbers for PO, SPO, and Arm Wrestling. Hopefully someone know.

Pretty good. The CPO is a little worn along the underside of the front edge, the side art is a little worn, it could use new T-molding, and currently one of the color PROMs is dead, affecting the bottom monitor (no green), but that is going to be addressed soon by the seller. It's pretty solid and I have no complaints, especially for $350.

I just got a Punch-Out!! in a similar condition to Tycoon's and was searching for the same numbers.

Serial number is 03950 by the way.

Hey guys! Sante great to see ya post, hopefully you got the NW Dvd I shipped you?
Anyways......I can tell you what I know......exact numbers who knows??? There was NO such thing as a "dedicated original" Super-Punch Out machine. They were all built as Punch-Out and a year later Nintendo released a Super Punch-Out kit for operators that wanted to upgrade their machines. As far as I know, the kit came with the roms to swap on the pcb, new (pull up) joystick, and "Super" side decal.

I have spoke to several operators that were BIG on the scene in the 80's. Most of them have told me when Nintendo released Super that the original Punch-Out was still bringing in buckets full of quarters so there was NO real need to upgrade a machine that was making them good coin to begin with. As a result there were NOT a lot of Super Punch out games that made the conversion. Punch out seems to be a dime a dozen, still fairly easy to find. Super-NOT so much.

Yet.....all it takes to make an original into a SPO, providing you get around the security chip, is the rom swap, color proms, and joystick.

So.....if you ever decide you want just original Punch-Out, I would be willing to trade you a good working regular Punch-Out PCB + some $$$$$ for a working Super PCB. Been looking for a Super board for a while!!

Enjoy it!!
