Hello, I'm looking to fix up a Plush Mania machine, it's one of those "put a coin in, move mechanical arm, get toy" machines. The mechanical arm is missing, and I'm not sure where to go look for a replacement.

On top of that, how much do you think it would be worth the way it is (fully functional, except for the mechanical arm), or fully restored.

Thanks in advance,

Your picture is a little blury, but it should be a Rainbow Crane. There are two versions the classic and the new gen. If you can take a picture of the logic board I can tell you which version it is.

When you say the mechainical arm is missing do you mean just the claw or is the whole assembly missing (bridge, trolley, claw)?

Thank you for your reply, coinopdirect.

Here are the details.

It's a Rainbow crane MC42, do you need the serial number?

The cable (as you will see in the pictures) is all that is left of the arm.

The lighting system uses two T12 fixtures (they don't even sell T12s anymore at any electrical suppliers I know of), and there are two metal rods spanning the length of the machine.

I have good news and bad news.

First the good:

It is a New Gen and parts are easier to find and Rainbow still supports them (to a point). The boards are easy to repair and cosmetically, your crane looks good. The model is actually a NC60, not a MC42. The board is not the one that came with the crane. The 2 digits represent the crane cabinet size (60 = 60 Inch / 42 = 42 Inch).

Now the bad:

The missing Bridge, Trolley & Claw assembly will cost you about $1100.00 New from Rainbow and will probably cost about $300-500 used. You can find complete used Rainbow New Gen cranes for $500-$1000 depending on your area and condition.

Unless you are into this for some good money I would suggest you part out what is left. The Joystick pod (panel) is worth $75.00 if the plastic is good, the main board about $50.00, the wire harness in the picture (swing Cable) if it has no internal breaks and the coil is not stretched out too much are worth $75.00-100.00 the marque about $35.00.

Thanks for your help coinopdirect,

I'll be exploring options for what to do with this beautiful machine.

Thanks,
