pls help me understand why I'm scouting pin ads now

After getting my Time Warp pin from SuperBee4406, and bringing it back to life, I'm finding myself scouring ads for other pins for sale. I don't have money for another one, and I definitely don't have room for another one, so why in the hell is my subconscious telling me to go out and look anyway???

This hobby really is wak'd.

Collecting pins is addictive.

Buying them dirty, broken and cheap then bringing them back to life is a real thrill. Try to make a small profit or trade up for the next project.

You will be making/finding more room somewhere.

You and all of us. I currently live in a tiny apartment which, thanks to two pinball machines, has no kitchen table. Hell, there's barely enough room to grab a beer from the fridge!

What's even more amazing is that the woman I love is okay with this.

I bought my first pin in late May, the 2nd 2 weeks ago and I have a lot of time and money to put into it, but for some dumb reason I keep looking on CL for more pins.

I never thought I'd say this but I can see myself having more pins than vids. - Barry

Vids are great but with pinball you immerse yourself into the game more physically and mentally which, I think, is the more addictive escapist experience. You'll never duplicate a game.

What I also appreciate are the changes in gameplay and technology throughout history and owning games I've never played before. My '53 Quintette is a much different playing experience from Congo but a place for both in my collection.

I just had my 2nd best game on High Speed tonight, scoring over 7,000,000. Repetitive in the 'rules' but fast, simple and fun.

What are vids? Oh...those dusty things in the corner of my gameroom, where 2-3 more pins could go?
Yeah, yeah, Ken, those dusty things. I can hardly wait to get my dusty Joust finally hooked up to my new 19-in-1 card. Jrok it ain't but still going to be good fun.

Multigame cabs are the route I'm taking to optimize the use of space and get the most gameplay. I'm going to max out at 12 working 'keeper' pins and room for a rotating 'lucky 13' pin project. Getting there.

pins make crack look like fun dip. and there is no cure.aint it great.

Post of the day. Rep to you!

I have collected pins from Day 1. My forst arcade machine ever was a Black Knight pin. Tghere was never a time I did not have a pinball machine in the collection, but there have been times I had no video games.

While video game are cool, and have their place, pinball (to me) has alot more nostalgia.

And when people come over, the normally don't say "Oh wow, you have a video game", thay say "WOW! You have pinball machines!!"

Now I have and enjoy both. Feel free to muy more and store tham at my house :) They will be in good company!

I really do think they are more addicting than vids for some reason. The payoff when you fix them IMO is 10x greater.

I have the same problem and just have a bad habit of searching for pins multiple times a day on craigslist and kijiji just to see what pops up. I wasn't looking for a 4th pin and ended up blowing over $3k on my TSPP as a father's day present for myself or at least that is what I told my wife ;)
