[I'm not selling any of these games, and I'm not posting direct links to any of them. This is just more of a discussion about how low prices have sunk.]
I was noticing yesterday that a fairly large number of vids have popped up on Minneapolis Craigslist over the past week; a lot more than what I'd call typical. Until now, I just hadn't realized how low prices have dropped! That's a good thing for anyone looking to expand their collection, but I feel sorry for anyone trying to sell anything right now. Some of it may be a case of the "summer sales doldrums", but still...
Examples:
Star Castle, $475
Rolling Thunder, $150
Donkey Kong, $600 [OK, that one is priced high]
Mechanized Attack, $125
Star Trek Voyager, $350 [The game larger than my 1st apartment!]
Virtua Cop 2, $350
Centipede, $300 [semi-restored]
Asteroids, $350 [restored]
Donkey Kong cocktail, Mortal Kombat 2, Rampage, $1000 [that one's high, too]
Galaxian cocktail, $375
Golden Tee 2005, $425
Asteroids, $299 [different game than the one above]
NFL Blitz 2000, Neo Geo 4-slot, ?
Frogger, $250
Galaga, $425
Ms. Pac, $750 [high]
Super Mario Bros, $150
Operation Thunderbolt, $200
Time Soldiers, $50
Those are all still listed, so presumably they haven't sold. With a few exceptions, most of those prices seem reasonable to downright low to me. [and most of them could probably be talked down a little further] If I had any room left at all, I'd be talking to the guy about that Star Castle right now. Quite a few popular classic titles in that list, too.
Sadly, I have an "extra" Asteroids that I had planned to restore and sell, but if they're not even getting $300 for them, it doesn't exactly motivate me. A friend of mine has a whole bunch of games that he's planning to sell. These sorts of prices have him wondering if he'd be better off waiting until the holiday season.
