Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this...

I am new to this group, but I am in no means not new to this hobby. I started out with pinball, but am now more into video arcade games. I still love both sides of the hobby. Anyway, it is a constant fight for space in my gameroom. I am always obsessed with trying to figure out how to fit more games in my game room. It is so bad that I keep drawing it out on graph paper trying to fit in "just one more". I have input from my wife, my 2 sons and myself. We all have different views....so it is hard to make everyone happy. The solution...rearrange and make room for one more. It is so bad I keep graph paper in my pocket in case I figure out a new plan, I can scetch it out. My room is 16 x 24. I have 8 pins, 12 vids, a puck bowler, 1 cocktail vid, a Pepsi machine, a 3 x 5 bar with 2 megatouches, a jukebox, and I am still trying to figure out how to fit the rest of my games in there ( I have a lot more to go). The rest sit sadly awaiting repair, but with no where to go. I really need to add on to my game room, which I really plan to do....but in the meantime I can't help but try to fit "just one more" in. Am I alone??? Is my wife right??? Am I crazy??? I hope not...

no, it's normal, but you really need to be honest with yourself too.
i had games in my kitchen, dining room, porch, basement, garage...
and then i felt silly for going over the deep end. now i impose a
limit. if something has been here too long and/or doesn't get much
play, it goes up for sale. when the space opens, i let myself buy another.

recently, though, i decided the dart board doesn't get enough use
so i put another game in front of it! current count is nineteen.

I think your absolutely nuts, all of you! Just kidding! I just never had the problem with space issues. I have 3000 sq ft. dedicated to games! I've never actually had space problems since forever! Just get a family member to open a mini-storage and have some dead space for you and batta big batta boom you got yourself a huge gameroom.

I havent gone as far as graph paper, but I have drawn up several plans. I was supposed to be finished several games ago, but I keep finding ways to squeeze in another one. The sad thing is, my basement isnt finished, but my plans reflect what I am "hoping" it will look like once it gets finished. So yeah, my priorites are kind of backwards.

stevel, do you have pics of your current layout? I'm just curious because my room is about the same size, and I'm amazed at the amount of stuff you already have in there. I usually have 6 to 8 vids in my gameroom, but I guess you could say its much more lounge-like since it has a couch and end tables.

totally normal... anyone got my ms pac in my bathroom pic?

I have an unused shower stall in my private bathroom (we have 3!) and I have been considering putting my Jungle King in there to make room for another game I want in the gameroom.

In reality though, I'm probably going to move some of the crap from the unfinished side of my basement to the attic and re-appropriate some of that space for more games.

no, it's pretty normal. i know the width in inches of the walls in my gameroom, and mentally try to figure out how to rearrange to accomodate another machine all the time. and it drives me crazy, because i had a bunch of cabarets, or 10 more inches of room, i could easily squeeze every cab in there.

I hear the tetris music already! Reminds me of 2 auctions ago when I bought more than would normally fit in the trailer and I had to measure 6 million different things and pray it would fit. Remember, don't ever buy a 4'x8' trailer, go for the 5'x9' or 5' by 10'. No full sized cabinet is less than 2 feet in any single direction.

Do a search for my video of my arcade, you'll see some serious space utilization!! You gotta do what you gotta do!! :)

And I also have games in my garage and a storage unit, lol...

Edit: Here ya go:

Pepsi machine out, another vid in.

I'd never have one of those things in my house, it's neat but it's still just a fridge you put money in to get pop you already paid for back out of...I don't see the attraction other than wanting a bigger dent in your electricity bill and extra heat in the room from the condenser.
