We'll it's not my game any more. I was transporting a game I sold (Moppet) to the Pilot Air terminal about 40 miles away. I had the game wraped and strapped to a pallet. But I wasn't comfortable with it just sitting in the back with the winding blowing pretty good. I started out slow and took the turns easy. About 5 miles from where I had to go it flew out of my truck. Luckly it appears only the power cord got messed up. Will not know till the buyer plugs it in. The cord was frayed and looked like wires touching each other so I didn't plug it in at the terminal.

As I got out to take care of the game hoping it wasn't in a million pieces i almost got hit by a 18teen wheeler. Then my truck which was just a hare in the road (I stopped really fast and didn't get all the way over) got clipped by a van. Not much damage to either auto. My truck already has a lot of dings anyway. But they were in a work van so they had to call their boss and get insurance info and call the cops. Which the cops did nothing so we left.

I am praying the game still works. Cost 60 more to ship than I was quoted which comes out of my pocket. Which still leaves 740 for the game unless it needs repairs.

Wow just Wow!!!! First I must say Im happy your alive. Im sorry, but I could give 3 shits less if the Moppet was destroyed. Bottom line is you have to secure your load. If you use enough straps a tornado wont move that machine!!!

I understand Moppet's are very important to you but you could have killed someone, or got yourself killed. Just forget about the Moppet and think about whats really important in all of this.

If you need some extra straps PM me your address, I will send you some.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, I am happy you are alive!!

Oh, you're That Guy.

The guy with the wood sticking out his car windows. The guy with the mattress held on top of his roof with clothesline. The guy who left the smashed recliner beside the road, making me wonder what the hell could have happened.

The guy that had a transmission torque converter fall out of the bed of his truck, bounce through a windshield and kill a woman on the highway near my house.

Please don't be That Guy ever again.

Re:

Um, did you use straps? Kinda reminds of a picture I once saw of the guy transporting a PacMan strapped to the roof of his Tempo...

classic.

Are you kidding me? And just the power cord got damaged? Yeah and possibly just a blown fuse too...

I pray you learn from this one and transport it better and to keep yourself out of harms way too. You could have gotten killed and injured others from a vid game. I would have been pissed off if I clipped you in my car, over your transportation issues.

Few years back, I saw a brand new smashed up pin sitting in a distributor's repair area. Guy who had bought it loaded it on his pickup and refused to tie it down as he was "only going a few blocks". He dropped it in the street as he exited the dealer's driveway, then expected it to be repaired at no cost. To this day, no one is given the invoice on equipment at that place until it is securely tied down, even if the dealer's people have to do it themselves. And regarding mattresses, man from near where I live was killed when one flew out of a truck. He was sitting either on the tailgate or the side of the bed, and the mattress knocked him into the road at high speed. WTF are people thinking?

Sorry to hear about your luck. I would pray for your game, but at the moment its all tied up in trying to win the lotto.

Unbelieveable part 1: You sold a Moppet????!?!?!?!

Unbelieveable part 2: You didn't strap it down enough?

Unbelieveable part 3: Minimal damage to the game.

The rest is believeable, but you're lucky that you didn't cause a severe accident.

That cab will be tweaked and not be square anymore on any corner. You should've unwrapped it and fully inspected it. Prepare for an unhappy customer.

The guy who straps a Pac-man to the trunk lid of the car, the guy who put a Baby Pac in a pickup without strapping it in and drove up the onramp causing the game to slide to the back and do a 180 over the tailgate and end up in a million pieces, the guy who put a Kangaroo machine in the front seat of his convertible (anybody remember TBBK), The guy who bought a stove from the appliance store where I work and didn't tie it in (causing it to have a major case of road rash). Yeah, that guy.

I just recently got a pinball that a guy dropped off the back of his truck. Didn't tie it down, drove 5 miles to his house with it, dropped it within 100 yards of his house. The head of the pin completely fell apart at all the seams.

I fixed it, got it back up and running.

You can buy straps at the Flea Market, or any auto parts store, for $10 or less although I would recommend using the larger straps with wider bands. Why would anyone move a game without using straps ?

Before I drive with a game now I make sure to rock the truck and pull on the cabinet from all directions to make sure there is NO give. A game should be strapped from the sides, front, and back. No exceptions...

I do the exact same thing, whenever I tie a load down I grab the item and shake the hell out of it in every way possible to make sure it is secure.

And I can't believe you just picked it up off the road and dropped it off to be shipped. If I was the buyer I would be pissed, actually I would just refuse delivery of the item. I sure as hell hope you have told the buyer what happened.

I pray your tire goes out at 110
I pray you pass out drunk with your best friend
And wake up with his and her tattoos

I pray your brakes go out runnin' down a hill
I pray a flower pot falls from a window sill
And knocks you in the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray you're flyin' high when your engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are, near or far
In your house or in your car
Wherever you are, I pray for you

I was here on page two of the next epic KLOV thread.

Sorry, i got nothin' else. :D

1st, always tie down your games or any item you are transporting. And make sure they are tied good!

Obviously you are hoping the game gets there and is working but have you considered contacting the buyer and mentioning the damage to the cord/game? The game may very well be in working condition but if the cord is damaged and they don't notice and plug it in, they may damage the game then.

BTW I see you've been selling a number of moppets lately. I'm still interested in the CC moppet. Seriously!

About 5 miles from where I had to go it flew out of my truck. Luckly it appears only the power cord got messed up. Will not know till the buyer plugs it in.

...which you expect him to do after it got "messed up"? It must not have gotten messed up enough for you to worry about it being plugged in.

The cord was frayed and looked like wires touching each other so I didn't plug it in at the terminal.

Then, wh............ohhhhh, I get it. This has something to do with meth.

Man, there is going to be something wrong with it. I was transporting a game years ago (when I worked for a route operator) and I light hit the back of another vehicle.

The machine did not work until chips were reseated, etc.

I can only imagine what flying out of a truck bed would do to a game....

Noice, as long as you've been doing this there isn't a reason for you not to own straps or have known that this game needed to be strapped in. In all honesty nothing pisses me off more than receiving an item that was damaged due to horrible packing. If I were the buyer I would refuse shipping and ask for a full refund. You would end up being out a lot more than $60 then and would get your broken game back.

You really should have checked the cord and the game out. Shipping a game that just flew out the back of your truck and who's cord frayed isn't cool any way you try to spin it.
