cool thanks Ken.

i have one of those minus the ziff card. they are excellent pieces of equipment.
i would like to get a ziff card if i can find one.

i was looking to get a bug trap so i could test other/more and different parts.

i am trying to be more self sufficient in board repair so i can learn and save money in the long run.

Peace

I should have an extra zif card I can sell you. I have two of them and only use reference cards most of the time so I dont really need the second zif card. A TTL databook is a must to set the zif card dips quickly. I found it much faster than pulling up datasheets everytime.
I have around 30 dedicated reference cards so most of the time I dont need to bother with the zif card.

One of these days I need to get something along the lines of that HP10529A. Sure, I can fire up the USB analyzer, which has come up invaluable on a few occasions, but it's slow to clip each lead individually and such.

I have the HP 10529A and an HP 1630A Logic Analyzer.

I recently built cables for the analyzer but haven't used it yet.

You can see she'd ID'ing a bad IC

My cats have proven to be of no help in troubleshooting. They do a good job of keeping the mice out of the basement in the wintertime :)

I have the opposite problem, I have about 10 or so ref cards and I'd like to get a switch profile made for the ZIF board for each IC, as I think it's initially more hassle but more convenient to just store the reference ICs. Do you have a link to the TTL databook you speak of? I'm off to Google it....
