Hey fellas.
I have a jamma setup arcade machine with a 25 inch RCA monitor. I had this thing up and running for about a month now and it's starting to crap out. I only turn my game on only 2 times at most a week and never leave it on for more than 40 minutes at a time. But today I noticed that the monitor started to display wavy lines that go vertically. This symptom was shown when I plugged in superman PCB. When I plug in final fight, there are no wavy lines but instead clear lines that travel from top to bottom. Any thoughts? My power supply is pretty old so maybe this is causing it somehow? Sorry I'm a newbie so I need some help.
If I can't fix it then can anyone in southern California be kind enough to help out for a reasonable fee?

I also tried to adjust the vertical hold and still the problem persists. The image syncs up and the image looks great but again, the monitor is displaying a wavy picture. I've heard maybe that a bad power supply is causing this? Please help. Sorry I'm a newbie.

Oh yeah one more thing. I already had a cap kit installed onto the monitor so the only thing I could think of is the power supply that is causing this....

Have you checked your voltage coming from the power supply? Have you checked to make sure the voltages on the board are high enough?

Could be time to rebuild that monitor.

I wish I could. Again, I'm a newbie so I don't have a multimeter to check. Better get one soon to check.
I know there are many factors that can cause this issue but can a faulty power supply directly cause the image to become wavy?
Thanks for the response.

Ill check the power supply and work from there... I'm gonna have to order a new one.. I'm sure of it. I just searched on the forum and found some similar cases already posted.. if I find anything along the way I can't figure out then ill post again on my thread.
Any more thoughts on this will be appreciated! Thanks
