My Gorf decided to stop working after 5 years. I have previously capped the monitor (G07) with the Bob Roberts kit and repaired the linear supply. Problem is now display related. At first power up there was a faint star screen (black screen with what appears to be white stars) blinking off and on. There is no sound and no coin up. Switching the test switch on the audio board results in the same blinking screen. After searching on here I double and triple checked voltages and even played with the values 0.10+/- with no results. All voltage measured at card cage. I pulled the cage and cleaned the back plane and all edged connectors and reseated all chips possible. I now have the brighter blinking with blue dots as seen in the youtube clip pasted below. I have seen mention of Mark's (Mspaeth) upgrade's for Gorf. Does this appear to be a ROM issue that could be resolved with his kit? Mark, if you chime in here, what do you think? I have a spare set of boards/cage that does nothing with swapping around boards. Anyone fixing these board sets? Thanks so much for any help!

If in fact it is a RAM issue, what's the fix? Is Commander Dave still around fixing Gorf boards? Ebay for more boards? Mspaeth??? Elutz?

I can fix them for you. As for RAM issues.....Mark (and Dave) made a test ROM for testing RAM. If you wanna split hairs.....Dave started it, but left it hanging with a fair bit of bugs.....Mark picked it up, tweaked it out, and hammered it home. They both released it to the wild for free!

I would probably just get some ram boards and start swapping. WOW ram is that same I believe and probably others.
