I remember playing a game one night at a local college when I was a kid. My dad was in line for registration and he gave me a bunch of quarters and sat me in front of a couple of games. I only played this game this one night as far as I can recall. I'll try to describe it as best I can.
This had to be late 80s, *maybe* early 90 or so. It was a type of shmup, with a top-down view like Raiden games. I think the control panel had a single button for firing. The joystick was an 8 way and you could pilot your little ship any of the 8 ways at any time. It wasn't a forward scrolling shmup. You basically flew around all over the place. I THINK the ship was purple-ish in color, maybe blue. I think the shape of the player's ship was hexagonal or octagonal.
The last thing I can remember was the backdrop. At some point you may have flown over a city, or something but I really think this stage was in space. It had grey or white 'pipes' or powerlines, (basically lines on the screen) that were crosshatched. i.e:
But basically set up to show a series of interconnecting pipes, or powerlines, or maybe city streets. Not real sure. I know the description is pretty vague, but does this sound familiar to anyone at all?
Thanks!
