Please help me get audio on Scramble. (Wiring harness issue.)

LONG STORY SHORT:

I have two loose wires, an orange and a blue, with their pins still soldered on. Which one of these wires goes into "A" on the bottom of the harness, and which one goes into "1" at the top? Thanks.

My Scramble cocktail didn't give me any audio upon purchase. I heard that the audio often goes bad on these, so I bought a refurbished board from a reputable website, which had been tested working for over eight hours. I popped the new board in, expecting a quick fix. However, I am still not getting any audio at all. I checked the wiring harness, and two wires (blue and orange) have been disconnected (see pic). According to this pinout: http://www.arcade-museum.com/pinouts-game/9447.html, I believe that these are the coin wires, but which one of these goes where, and would they bring back the audio? The speaker wires are definitely in place. I took a multimeter to the speaker wire terminals, and got continuity. Any help would be appreciated!

First of all before you do anything else.

Do you measure 12 volts with your DMM across pin 1 and ground on the harness ?

If not, you won't hear anything. In that case follow the wire from pin 1 to your power supply and see if it's connected to 12v.

Thanks for the help. This is a stock image of my mulitmeter. What setting would I put it on (and where the leads be plugged in) to check that voltage? All I knew how to do was continuity. :p

Turn the dial to 20 DCV, leave the leads as is because you want to measure the DC voltage.

You should see voltage at around 12 volts with the game running.

It might be easier if you had another set of meter leads.
 
I'm getting absolutely nothing on pin 1. I used the monitor frame for a ground, and got readings from other pins. How do I know if it's connected to 12v on the power supply? I do see a 12V on the power supply, and it's occupied with a pronged wire, screwed in.

Is that terminal marked 12v ( circled in red ) ?

If so measure the voltage between GND and 12V on the power supply ( be extra careful ).

You should also check that the wire from pin 1 on your harness goes to that terminal ( 12v ) on your power supply. It might have come loose or is dirty and not making the proper contact. Or the 12v is completely dead from the power supply itself.
 
That's great.

All you need to do is now is follow the wire from that terminal to pin 1 on your harness and make sure its connected.
 
EDIT: Oh, snap! It looks like the orange wire that wasn't connected to begin with! (See first pic.) Do I just solder that to the ground on the harness?

It's easier if you set your DMM to continuity ( diode mode ) and connect one end of the DMM lead to pin 1 on the harness, and the other to the 12v terminal on the power supply. With the machine off of course.

It is showing a readout when I do that. It's a large number that disappears quickly. I edited my last post; did you see it?
