**please help a noob in need**

Well, you could always send the chassis to someone with more experience so they can look at it for you to see if it is definitely a chassis issue...

Guys, consider this for a second...

I wonder if the video ground pin ISNT connected to anything on the Multi board?

OP: Take a look at the gold pin on the edge connector where the video ground is connected (its the black wire coming from the monitor). If that gold pin doesnt have a thin trace coming off of it then theres your problem. You can probably tie the monitors video ground to logic ground.

If it worked with the Strikers PCB - then it would have to. It's a standard JAMMA connector, and they'd both use the same pinout. That's whay I asked way back when if the Strikers pcb still worked in it...

That would be true if in fact the GND pin on the Multi logic board was populated. If the pin is going no where on the 60-n-1 then he's missing video GND.

Yeah, I guess, although I've messed with over a hundred of those 60's and never seen one like that. I have seen it on JAMMA adapters, though...

I believe this is what you're lookin' for.

Sorta. Kind of a pain that your label wasn't printed to the proper size to match your pinout. But he wanted you to make sure the Vid Gnd pad actually had a trace into the PCB, and your pic just shows the connector on the board, not the board itself without the connector.

BUT - have you actually tried moving the ground wire from the 8th spot to the 4th spot (next to the blue) as suggested earlier? or jumpered the sync from the 10th spot to the 9th spots?

Yes I did try moving the ground and jumpering as well. No change. I'm wondering if there's a problem between the chassis to the small board at the back of the monitor? Seems like I've tried so many different things with no results. I can't think of what else could be wrong. Worked perfect on an lcd monitor and I can't get close on this CGA. Should I plug into the composite? If so from what wire?

Sounds like you need to either test another board with that monitor, or have that monitor tested in another game by someone who can help you solve the problem...

SabbathGray: Where are you located? Maybe someone on the group who is local to you will have another board you can throw in there for testing.

AND IT LIVES!!! I'm not sure how to explain it, but the ground wanted to be on the vertical sync and the video sync wanted to be on composite.... Who knew... That's the only way it would work. Thanks KLOV family!!

Hmm. Really? Let's see a pic of that.

And turn down your blue/brightness...

Don't know why it's working, but I'm not complaining. Sorry for the blurry pictures.
