Please go see Tron: Legacy this weekend

The film cost + marketting was about $300 mil...let's see the numbers when Tron finishes its Box Office run.

DVD sales have surpassed box office receipts for several years now. They'll have DVD and BluRay versions of the movie out in a few months, and probably some kind of bundle with both movies.

As someone else mentioned, the merchandising is also huge. Toys, clothing, soundtrack, etc. I'm sure most of us have already spent or will be spending a lot more on that stuff than on the movie itself.

Oh yeah, and hopefully a Tron pinball machine!

Is there actual proof that Stern is making one? O: I'm in awe right now. Shock too. Shock and awe. Awe and shock. Both of them.

c'mon Greg you have to be ok with this right ?
I can't wait to see this unfold :)

Oh yeah...look - I think Spider-Man 3 and Iron Man 2 were TERRIBLE movies ...but they had cool ELEMENTS, and those made it into the pinball machines...and I LOVE the Spider-Man and Iron Man pinballs. As a movie, Tron Legacy blows - but it LOOKS cool and SOUNDS cool (I love Daft Punk)....so - if those elements are part of the machine, it will be a rad pinball!

It's not "official official" but they're working on it. Next pin is Rolling Stones, then Tron....but I've heard rumors that the release order might flip. ;)

Problem is stern is afraid to release a machine that they fear will not sell. If the movie is not a hit stern may change their minds.

So, when Sam said great lines like "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!" and "HAVE A NICE SWIM!!!" ....was that more amazing the 2nd time? ;)

lol hahaha, Have a nice swim still made me laugh, honestly the club scene was by far the most epic thing ever. Daft punk just putting on beats
:D

Yeah, it's a possibility. I dunno - as we see here on KLOV, Tron is this weird thing that no matter how much it sucks, a good majority of gamers still love it. Stern might see killer home sales on this one if you guys put your money where your Tron-suckin' mouths are. ;) ...the movie won't be a financial hit, but at the end of the day it's in Disney's court to keep the Tron franchise alive or wipe their hands of it. We'll see.

I think it would equal big sales for stern but I doubt stern keeps it's ear to the collector community much. I think they will follow Disney's lead. I'm not sure where Disney stands on this. I don't think it's gonna turn a profit. Probably won't break even. I imagine a sequel to legacy could cost less than this one but I don't know that Disney will think it's worth it. That could kill the pin right there.

They do and they don't.....they've been trying some new things lately. Gary Stern always says he makes games for the ops....but as ops drop, they're finally realizing they have to tap different markets for sales. Iron Man "Classic" was made for the homeowners who don't know anything about pinball....not sure how those are selling...and then Avatar LE was something for the hardcore collectors and they got snapped up really fast. I have a feeling they'll go ahead w/ Tron due to the collector community crying for it for years....so - hopefully you guys will buy tons of 'em! :)
