Don't wait for the DVD.

If you care about Hollywood taking games and gamers seriously, it is imperative that you go to the theater to see Tron: Legacy tonight or tomorrow!

we wanted to make sure there were seats in the theater we went to tonight, as i was running there straight from work at the last minute, and it ended up being around 60-70% full.

yeah, usually I dont care for imax or 3D, but this is the one movie I went all out for, and the experience alone was worth every penny.

Awesome. We're going again tomorrow.

It is so important that this movie does well... you wouldn't believe the lack of respect games get in the movie business. If this succeeds there will be hope for the future.

I thought it was so good of a theater experience I already have plans to see it again. Totally worth seeing it at the theater. If you can get the chance, IMAX 3D is the way to go!

Definitely going to an IMAX theater... wish we could see the whole film in the "immersive" theater they showed the preview at in California Adventure with the lights and fans.

That was awesome.

if nothing else see it to help support the possibility of a tron pin. Another new game should be something we can all agree is a positive thing for the hobby.

all I want to know is...

is it HONESTLY as good or better than the first one?... or are you guys just maybe riding the "ZOMG NeW TrON movie since like 4EVAR" hype train???

Be honest now... and please, no spoilers.

Obviously the special effects are "light years" ahead of the original. With that being said, I kind of like the original better.

It left a lot on the table in regards to the 3D. (could have done better)

I appreciate they stayed true to the original though.

I guess what I'm wondering is... forgetting how awesome the graphics might be....

is the acting and story as good as the first movie?... and does the new movie compliment the Tron universe or change it so much that the only thing that remains the same are the light suites??

Based on the previews I saw it seemed like they went a similar direction that they did with the Star Trek remake. Lots of action and pretty graphics, but an OK story that you shouldn't think too hard about.

To be honest, I think it was better than the first one. This one was a lot more action on to of the sci-fi. It did connect back well to the first one, and overall it was a really great movie to watch.

The story wasn't a deep story but it wasn't too shallow either. The storyline and acting was better in this movie over top ther first. It did compliment the Tron universe as well as change it enough to fit the story.

Saw the new Tron yesterday and loved it. Personally I think it is better than the first. I agree with most other people the 3D was not that impressive, but good sound track and lots of action. However if you haven't seen the first movie, than some of what's going on may not make sense or you may miss some of the symbolism.
If they do make a pinball/video game I may end up buying my first NIB!
