I have a working Smash TV PCB that I am debating whether to just sell it, or take it with me on the move and hope I either
1) find an empty/broken Smash TV cab
2) find time and skills to build a cab
3) install it in some other cab

I have/had an NBA Jam cab that I had always dreamed of making a new swappable CP just to play Smash TV on but never did it. I'd like to get another NBA Jam when I move so that might still be a possibility.

Anyone else have/had this problem? Any thoughts?

Do you need money? Do you find it wasteful to have PCB's laying around that you probably won't ever use? That's what I ask myself.

Hehe - I'm moving so thinning the herd. Try not to take too many PCBs with me :)

do you like the game?

in regards to making something, i'd recommend getting a MK style control panel box and panel made up (or buy one if you can find it cheap), it would be easier to make swappable panels for that, but might not be wide enough for 4 joysticks (2 per player).

To play devil's advocate, a PCB doesn't take up nearly as much space as an entire cabinet. Is one PCB really going to lighten your moving load?

Otherwise, gotta weight these things yourself. I love the game personally, so I'd probably keep it until I eventually ran into a good cabinet for it.

dedicated cabinets seem to be pretty plentiful and cheap. Why not sell the pcb now and then keep an eye out for a complete game after you have settled in

Fun game, one of my all time favorites, but is the PCB really in demand? Seeing as you would need the original cabinet with the original control scheme to play it, it doesn't seem to me like there's be a whole lot of a orphaned Smash TV cabinets out there missing the PCB.

Ok, I think I'll keep it for now. Maybe someday I can do something with it. :)

Thanks all!
Brian
