I decided to start working on my Aztec EM today. I pulled the backbox, playfield and the main board in the bottom of the cab out so I can start cleaning all the switch contacts etc.

After looking at the playfiled and how much of a pain it could be to work on, I decided I need a playfiled rotisserie.

It seems the most cost effective way is to build my own. I found a few online that use 2x4's and some pipe flanges and unions and that seems ok I guess.

Then I found this http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike217/sets/72157616252440925/show/

I think this would work great, in his RGP post he says it cost him around $82 or so, well today I went and bought all the parts and it came to $163.00. I guess steel went up a bit since 2009 when he built his.

I tinkered with the plan and I can make a tabletop version that I think would be better for me but it's still $110. Maybe I'm just cheap, but this seems like too much cash considering at this point I have 1 machine I'll need it for, but I'm sure I'll need it in the future.

Any ideas for a nice more cost effective rotisserie? - Barry

I did this one for about $30 and I am going to do a little work on it so I can adjust the hight if I want.

I returned all the pipe parts and decided to go a different route. My good friend Dan's (dhutch800) father has a welding business and he works with him when he's not substitute teaching. We talked about a rotisserie and I drew up some rough plans. Today I get a call asking about a dimension on my plans and he said he had most of the parts cut.

When I stopped by the shop tonight he had 95% done and finished while I was there. I think it's going to work perfect. It's adjustable for different playfield lengths, good standing height, has casters on one end for easy moving and will disassemble for storage. I just need to paint it up and good to go. I'll post pics soon. - Barry
