Who does playfield restorations? I have a clean but worn playfield I am considering sinking the money into.

The game will never be worth what I will have to put into it, but the wife loves it and tolerates my habit because of it... and you can't put a price on that.. :D

Do it yourself and save a ton of money. I just put the first coat of clear on a playfield that was almost totally repainted.

It looks good and if the ball rolls smoothly across it when it was done then I'll be happy.

I may have $25 invested in the job at the most, but there was a lot of time in it that would not have been affordable if I was paying for a shop to do it.

OK, so let's just say I might have someone in my family who is a qualified artist and would maybe consider trying to takle repainting this in her spare time...

Does anyone have a link to an instructional on methods, paint types to use, recommended clearcoats, etc.? I know she could make it look like the original image, but without knowing what type of paints to work best and the best methods of applying, it might be difficult.

The problem I run into is if it got messed up, I would have to drop even more money on buying a new machine as I have been looking for a replacement playfield for 6 years to no avail.

Unless someone has a spare Six Million Dollar Man playfield just lying around...

I feel this machine warrents restoration, if not for the personal attachment, for the sake it was the only 6 player pinball ever made... ;)

Guru, I'll have to find the link at work tonight,( if I can) and post it back to you. This guy did several u tube videos of doing touch up paint work, then filling in all of the light marks on the game with clear urethane so the ball would roll evenly and then he sprayed a few coats of clear on it. I was debating on letting someone do the Paragon I am working on, but this guy has some really good videos and I think if I don't sell the Paragon, i'll give it a try.

That would be amazing, please do share this if you can find them. Then it's just trying to convince my mom to spend some time doing the repaint touch-ups for me... That might actually be harder to do than attempt this myself.. lol
