Im having an issue with the magnets on my GNR. there are three under playfield magnets, and only two of them are working. Ive checked the fuses under the playfield and they're good, and doing a magnet test in diagnostics I only feel two of them pulsating, can a magnet go bad, or will it be the magnet board?

they can go bad .i have found from my one experience that over time the wires wear out like on a solonoid.i seen replacement cost around 25 bucks or so. you should a check the grounds first.

First of...I know nothing about these!!

Given that, are the magnets the same? Can you move the "bad" one to another position to see if the problem follows? That would narrow down the magnet vs something upstream.

It's important to remember that a solenoid is just a coil of wire. They don't wear out over time. It's definitely possible that they can melt but that's a different problem all together.

The wires don't 'wear out'. If over-driven (which some magnets and solenoids are by design), they can burn, causing shorts or breaks that make the magnet not work, but it's not a wear thing, it's an abuse thing.
