So I just bought my first pinball! It's an Evel Knievel Bally professional Home model from about 1977 or so.

Everything seems to work except one pop bumper and all the non-playing lights on the playfield are off. I am a complete newbie to pinballs. I have no idea how to fix this and I really don't want to break anything. But if someone here thinks it might be an easy fix, I'll try it.
I've downloaded a manual but that really doesn't help me at this point.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I disconnected/reconnected a 2 pin molex and it reset! The playfield lights are on now! But now the non-working pop bumper is flashing and the working one is just off.

Your GI circuit has a blown fuse likely (GI = General Illumination). I'd look at your fuse block to start with... remove and test the fuses OUT OF CIRCUIT... If that doesn't work, you then need to look at your connectors...likely the GI circuit connector is burned to hell...it happens.

As always start reading Clay's guide at: http://www.pinrepair.com/bally/index.htm

You will learn so much from his guides.

Steve

Good suggestion but that link covers the commercial version of the game, not the home version. Still a good read with a lot of good general pinball info.

Friz pretty much covered it as far as the GI is concerned.

What's the difference between the two?
Just no coin door? Or more than that?

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for all the replies. The lights on the playfield stayed on a few hours and they went off again.
Here's the connector I was talking about.
