I used to 'love' this game bitd. Not to say it's bad now, just some of that magic wore off after all these years...

I remember when my local Aladdin's Castle first got this brand new , and the crowds of people watching the gameplay. I remember it was converted from a SAC cab - the plastic Bally/Sente behemoths.

I never realized just how good the music is in this game. And also, the easy way to defeat the 3rd boss (Mandara)! Watch just 'how easy' this guy makes the challenge stage look!

It's too bad some of this era of Sega games did'nt have theri own dedicated cab (Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Shinobi et.al)....

Shinobi was one of my 'must have' games when I first started collecting and it was the first game that made it into what would become my Altered Beast cab. See my VAPS for more.

It still gets a lot of play and I still can't make it past that final boss. I also found it a lot easier to clear the Mandra boss the second time through. The first time is brutal!

Yeah, I think it's an underrated series.

I remember playing the original arcade as a kid and loving it. I was really into anything Ninja (what little asian kid isn't?). I loved the bonus stage where it's FPS-style and you flick throwing stars at enemies.

I remember being ecstatic when I got to play the Sega Master System version at home. The sequels on Sega Genesis/Mega Drive were awesome too.
