Looks cool. Does anyone know.. Is this a custom cab or a not very heard (too me) of original? I like the concept. But, never seen a pic of one before this.
I'd like to buy or build my own counter top playchocie if anyone has one. :)

I don't remember where I found the image sadly...

Anyone? Surprised no owns picked up on the topic yet..

Really! Thats interesting. I'm settling on finding one as it would be more convenient space wise.

I think DJ DNS had one for sale not too long ago... and there was one on ebay recently too...

I like the idea, but don't really like how they look...

There's a guy on Ebay selling them for exorbitant prices - I would not pay more than a couple hundred bucks for one personally.

It's a little too small for me, if I'm going to staring at that small screen for a while. Just imagine playing all your NES games on a 13" screen. But I would buy one if I found one for a nice price.

Check out this video about the different PC10 versions.

For years I thought that all PlayChoice-10 machines were the bartop version with the weird little joysticks like in the picture you posted; because it was the only type I'd ever seen (either at the mall or airport in the late '80s). I remember looking it over and thinking to myself, "Who would pay money to play an NES with a time limit, especially with those weird joysticks and tiny screen?"

For games like Super Mario Bros. 3, does the Playchoice save the game so you can come back to it later on like they did for the NES?

I sold one a year or two ago for $500 + shipping:

No, but I had to fix one when it broke AFTER it was paid for. It was a pain in the ass, too, as I had to take it apart, remove the switch for that direction, take the SWITCH apart because it was a weird kind and the actuator inside was broken, McGuyverize the actuator, put it back together and take it apart 12 more times until is worked properly, then put it all back together.

Luckily, it worked fine (and still does as far as I know). I sold it to the guy who runs this site:

What's funny is that I had just started my website and I had created a for sale page and stuck this on it as part of my figuring-out-how-to-make-a-web-page phase, and sold the thing two days later...

I was wondering why they used those funky joysticks, why didnt they use the ones from playchoice and other nintendo cabs, does it lack the space?

Mario 3 never had a save feature... until it was on Mario All Stars for SNES...

and I don't think any of the others did either... like Castlevania, or Mega Man 3... although I'm not sure about the password system... I would imagine, since it's supposedly an exact port, that it does have that in tact.

There isn't a lot of room in these things, once you put the monitor, power supply, and board (with carts) in it...

Ahhh....Been ages since I played the game. Just remember it taking forever to get to the end. Had it confused with Super Mario World for the SNES.
