Played my first game of dedicated defender in 20 years...
Woo Hoo! Finally put together my first dedicated arcade game - on the test bench that is, just the "skeleton" of one, boards only! - after finally coaxing an arcade monitor to work! (cant do much if you cant see what you're doing).
It had to be Defender no less, so i finally had a crack at it after sorting out the W2 configuration with an older cpu and newer IO board. man i suck at defender - but then i have only played about 10 games so far. top score: 8650 Woo Hoo!
just thought i'd share that.
oh, and many thanks to the klovers that have supplied the parts i needed to get this far - dokert (brand spankin' new reproduction harnesses! drool), djdns (the current defender cpu), and many others who have contributed parts, knowledge, patience, persistence, answers to dumb questions, and contributing the sense of fun of owning dedicated games!
not to mention the fun i have had so far myself in the creative, friendly, individualistic, idealistic, helpful and fertile klov atmosphere!
keep it up guys. you have yet to hear the story of my journey from mamer to dedicated gamer with a williams fetish. and pacman. and timepilot. oh heck, the whole shebang! woo hoo!
ok. i'll stop spouting now. promise. for now.
Cheers!
