Actually got my ass whooped by my son,Ive/we had never played one We was going to check out how TILT was doing at our local mall,they wasnt doing to well there closed! There was a sign on the door saying "check out the games at the new theatre" right next door so we did,I played a round of galaga then the POTC my son got 3 free plays on his 50cents I only got one :(

I played it not too long ago at Chuck E Cheese. Half ass playing trying to watch my 4 yr old. Ended up having to let the balls drain and quit, got the second highest score. I hadn't been able to play any pinballs in years. Instantly made me want to add a bunch to my basement.

Played Pirates of the Carribean at DisneyQuest two summers ago. I don't know if it was the elevation of the pin table or what, but it's gotta be the easiest pin I have ever played!

I've played five different ones in my area and some are just brutally difficult, at least one is just absolutely not fun to play at all and a couple have been easy as hell.

It's not a new phenomenon or anything. All games play a little different from table to table. Another game I have a billion different tables to play on is LOTR, but the degrees of difficulty are pretty close to each other. Pirates, my experience has been either completely frustratingly difficult or as easy as falling off a log.

i've heard a bunch of people say that. i've always enjoyed it when i played it, but i've never really beat the shit out of the game or anything.

It has its pros and cons.

Pros= Cool toys and challenging. Nice sound and music (IMO...I like the Johnny Depp sound-alike). Unique layout.
Cons=ZERO flow. Every shot stops. Can get monotonous if the ball times get long, as you get stuck either trying to get Heart Super Jackpot or Davey Jones (or both).

I had one, sold it. I won't say I dislike it though...it's a game I respect...but felt I no longer needed in my house after 3 or 4 months. :)

When you owned it, did you ever nail that super duper skill shot?

Potc = meh.

Agreed - this machine is a toy compared to the machines BITD. Every time I have run into one it feels flimsy and loose, the toys are wobbly and the overall machine is light.

However, at least it is a new pin. The day they stop making them altogether will be a sad - BAD - day.

Did you get to Four Winds Multiball? (Wizard Mode)

If not, then STFU. :)

...or even worse...Gauntlet Champion? The game is not hard to do well on, but it is *WAY* deeper than 99% of the public thinks it is. There is much more to it then simply defeating Davy Jones and to do all that other stuff is extremely difficult.
