PlayChoice10 Dual Video Small wite lines on monitor - NEED HELP

hey guys, im hoping someone here can help me, i have a playchoice10 with dual monitors. The bottom monitor when playing has a bunch of small white lines in it, i tryed switching around the wires from top to bottom monitor and the problem goes to the top when swtiching from bottom to top, so what i did next is dissconnected the PCB Assembly, thats the board in the picture and connected the wireharness directly to the pcb. and the white lines went away.

So i know its a probelm with this component..

so my question is when inspecting the component i see 3 ceramic-disc capacitor's where removed from spots C1 - C2 - C3... and thoes are where the video go thought. Now are thoes needed? Why would someone remove them? Do you guys think if i replaced them it would fix the wite lines?

Please post and let me know the fix,

thankxxx

My Playchoice has a similiar FCC shield with the caps gone as well. Try plugging the connectors straight to the board without the shield and see if that make it go away. - Barry

yes it did go away once i plugged stright into the pcb bypassing the shield....

so what should i do now to repair the shield's connector board?

You could check the schematics for the fcc board and see which circuits effect the video lines for that monitor and check those out to see if a diode is bad or a cap is bad.

You could also try to buy another or just don't use it at all. - Barry

ok, so by me not using it , it wouldnt hurt my pcb in anyway correct?

fcc

fcc ? what do u mean by that?

just watch out for the fcc? like the fcc people? Federal Communications Commission ?

lol

Yeah, just a joke. The shield was put there to conform to FCC rules when in reality it doesn't matter. - Barry

lol

yah so ill just keep it off untill i find a replacement part for it, or decide to try and fix it, thx 4 all the help
