Hey everyone, I just bought my first arcade game couple weeks ago at a house auction. I found this sitting in the basement covered up in the way back with junk all around it. When I asked the older lady who owned the house, she said its been sitting in the basement for about 10 years without being used. I unwrapped it and plugged it in and the only thing that turned on was the timer in the right hand corner. Since it didn't work she told me for 75 bucks I could take it.

I checked the main fuse and it seems to be okay. My question is where else do I look what else could it be? I included some pictures. Thanks for your help =)

Its a single monitor. Also what is the best way to clean the inside of the machine?

Do the marquee and coin mech lights light up? If so it could be the monitor chassis. Check the monitor chassis fuse.

Does the red led light up on the motherboard?

Looks to be in amazing shape...I would check the filterboard and game board to make sure they are attached well. What games are in it...sitting ten years you may have a gold mine in there.

The bulb for the marquee is missing so i have yet too replace it yet. Im not really that familiar with it yet where is the motherboard located at?

If you are looking at your 2nd pic the motherboard is located inside the cage at the bottom left of your cabinet. You will need to remove the filterboard from the cage to remove the motherboard. The motherboard will have 10 slots for the pcbs. Like Magog stated it we would like to know what game pcbs you have installed. :)

The games are, super mario bros 3, baseball stars, techmo bowl, tmnt, and Pin Bot?

Yeah nothing is lit up from that area.

Did you plug the harnesses back to the motherboard when you removed the filterboard to observe when you powered up the machine?

Do you have a multimeter? You need to check incoming power. You may have a power supply issue.

Yes, I plugged everything back up. Yes, I have a multimeter.

Magog is selling some pcbs so you can fill those other 5 slots. :)

Thank you groffdaddy...I am thinking this is a Power supply issue as well.

I know more about the Dual monitor machine myself.

Does the monitor get any kind of glow when you turn it on? Do you hear any sound, especially when trying to coin it up? Does the marquee light turn on? How about the coin door lights? Does the Timer display a time or 9999

Are you sure the motherboard is plugged in correctly to the filterboard?

I would guess game board issue or power supply at this point.

Monitor gets no glow at all. no sound not ever a crackle.Marquee doesnt have a bulb and coin door doesn't have lights on them. The time is at 0000 and when i put a quarter in it goes to 300 and counts down.

Okay good things there then

When you coin it up and it starts to count down is there any sound. Also try hitting reset, and then channel select and enter until a game or some kind of sound comes up.

If you are getting sound and can select a game and get sound and get it to play blind then we can call it a monitor and call it a day.

Sound is good here. I don't know about the single monitor boards but if not set to free play the dual boards will go through an attract mode and cycle through the games.

I don't know if the single does, but either way, when you get some time on it, try getting to a game and see if it will play blind.

Nope im not getting any power at all to the monitor or speakers. Is there any more fuses that could be causing this?

Thiis is where I am out...I don't know if the timer is mutually exclusive from the motherboard on the single monitor games.

If it is then it could be a wealth of other issues.

Still thinking it is a power issue of some type.

The best thing to do is trace the power wires backwards from the monitor towards the power supply/main power cord. I noticed the monitor power cord was wired nutted with 2 orange wire nuts. Have you checked them? There is a good chance that you may have a bad/corroded connection there.

Everything is connected but I noticed this when i was looking. When i found that there was a fuse missing I looked more and found a second one missing to the left of the second picture. The first fuse spot says 300ma? and I cant tell what the second is because is in the corner all i can tell is that its longer then the 300ma. Could this be the cause of the speakers and monitor or just another problem? Thanks
