I am thinking about collecting playchoice toppers. Did all games come with a topper? What ones are the hardest to find and what type of prices? It looks as though this may be expensive. Thoughts?

Most came with toppers, but not all of them. There are no toppers for any of the light gun games. I know for a fact that there is not a Golf topper, as I just opened a NOS box with nothing inside but the game. Also don't think that there are toppers for Baseball, Excitebike, Mario Bros and Tennis (the older games).

Here is a good list of games that includes pics of most of them... http://www.playchoice.riemen.net/pc10_list.html

What are the most difficult to get for the more popular games, not the rare games, as I assuming they are unachievable.

The rarity pretty much corresponds to the respective carts. The common ones can be picked up fairly easily in the $10 range. Beyond that it is really difficult to list a price from game to game. Prices generally seem to average around $25, and of course they vary depending on condition and whether or not they are applied to the stand. I am not going to say any names, but I know a sucker that just paid $100 for a NOS World Cup topper.

The buyer isn't a sucker. That is the value the buyer placed on that item, IYKWIM. Also, lately the price of Playchoice stuff has gone up. Finding a $10 anything for the PC is like finding a diamond in the rough (even for the common stuff...maybe empty boxes..lol). 95% of the time you will pay at least $25 and usually more for PC stuff.

Thanks! I found some other prices, I think I will try to collect the games first. I am selling the few toppers I have and try to get some more games. Thanks for the list, that was great!

For the few extremely common toppers (Baseball Stars, Tecmo Bowl, Double Dribble, TMNT), $10 is reasonable (not including shipping). And that sucker was me, I was making a joke (albeit a bad one). And I do not know WTF "IYKWIM" means.

I guess I am the sucker then, becasue I paid $25 for each of those toppers listed.

It's all good. And in both your case and mine, it just goes to show that the value is in the eye of the beholder. Some people would think me crazy for paying $100 for a 8"x4" piece of metal with a sticker on it, but I think it puts a nice finishing touch on my machine.

To sum it all up: Figure out which items you want, and find someone who will sell it to you for what you think it is worth to you.
