Ok I know many here have converted these. Im wondering what I will need? I know I need a punchout pcb and control panel.

Are the power supplies and harness usable?

I believe the power supply is usable. Not sure about the wiring harness. Try reading the PC-10 manual for specifics on a conversion from Punch-Out!.

PC10 to PO

The PC10 wiring harness has more wire for the extra buttons but it will work fine. (not the other way though)

You will need the PCB, control panel and marquee.

On my machine, I am keeping the original PC10 artwork and the boards in place. I swap out the PCB, control panel and marquee when needed without a hitch.

Awesome!!!! So are the control panel connectors the same or will need to put on a new connector, you had mentioned the extra wire.

The extra wiring in a PC-10 harness is for the extra player controls. You simply won't be using those.

Also, Punch-Out machines used a 1-piece tinted plexi front screen, with a bend roughly in the middle; as opposed to the two-piece glass screen that you have (those came with the PC-10 conversion kits).

You'll need a different shield cover; that is, if you plan to use the shield cover at all.

BTW, are you missing the brown cardboard bezels that go around the monitors? I can see the great outdoors through your machine; or is that a reflection?

You CAN use the PC - 10 Shield, but you have to cut a few of the diodes on it. Check the conversion manual for Punchout to PC - 10.

HMMM! Now that I think about it... maybe you add a few ceramic caps to the shield, I am at work so I can't check, but if you read the aforementioned manual, it should be pretty clear. Good luck!

Not using the shield cover at all = the easiest/best solution. All it does is add an extra set of contact resistance to the chain without any perceivable benefit to the user (no benefits that I can see anyway).

You are correct, I only used mine because I wanted it to look "unhacked"!

I used mine for a while for the same reason. However, I have Super Punch-Out and Punch-Out boards that I swap often, and that shield cover just added to the hassle of swapping boards (plus it made cleaning harness-to-board contacts take twice as long). I didn't throw it in the garbage, but it is no longer on the machine.
