OK I switched my playchoice to free play and now the reset button won't work. It worked before I set it to free play what might I have done? It would really suck to have to turn the machine off and on each time I want to pick a new game.

Pull the CP off and take a look. Make sure the button is still making contact with the switch, or that one of the wires hasn't come off. My PC10 is in freeplay, but I've never had any problems.

I checked the wiring to the button and made sure the button was making contact. Any other ideas?

I turned this game off of free play and a screen popped up that doesn't come up on free play. On the screen it says that you have to hit channel select and enter at the same time to get back to the game selection screen. So I tried it in free play and it worked.

I guess what I'm going to do now is disconnect the reset button and run a jumper wire from the reset button over to the other two buttons. I will let you know if it works tonight when I get home to try it.

My PC10 single monitor does the same thing in freeplay. Maybe there are early versions of the pcb that do this? Reset works fine when not in fp mode.

I seem to recall this being a BIOS version problem. Dump your BIOS chip and compare it with the one in MAME.

Yeah, I was told along time ago that some versions (if not all) have this happen when you set it to free play. My playchoice countertop does this as well.

Not sure if you have the ability, but if you don't and ever want to you can send me the BIOS chip and I'd reprogram it for you. Just cover shipping.

Same deal for the OP.

Cool thanks for all the great info fellas. I may have to take you up on that offer 2600.
