I've found diagrams showing two connectors on the end of the gun.

My gun has one connector with 3 wires, and then a single wire that has no connector.

What am I supposed to have off my PC gun that needs to connect back to the PC wiring harness?

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. I doesnt look like there is anymore room for another wire, or one broken in the rubber sheeth.

The single wire in your picture used to be in a wire harness. It is the ground wire.

The wire harness had a ground loop. If you look at Figure B on page 3 of the manuel linked below, it will give you a better idea of what it should look like with both wire harnesses.

Good luck!

I have the same issue. When I look at the diagram, it looks like the brown wire goes to pin 1 and pin 2 and 3 are shorted by the green wire. Is that right? I don't quite understand this because I only have 2 wires on that connector going to the harness. So it seems like pin 2 and 3 being jumped is worthless. What am I missing?

i mentioned this in another thread, but if you are having a lot of issues you can make a zapper work on a pc10 easy. the pin connectors are already there and fit perfectly into the control harness inside the machine. I drilled a hole for the cord now Im in the process of making a cool custom nintendo holster.

brown is going to be your 5v, purp is your trigger, blue is your hit and green is the ground if i remember correctly.

I tried that too, no luck so far. I want to get my PC gun apart and see if the wiring is still in tact. I have to order a special bit for that though. So maybe next weekend.

I'm still curious about the green wire. I tried connecting the ground to both the pins (like in the video you linked in the other thread) but it still didn't work.

IIRC, there is logic ground, and a trigger ground on the game board harness positions V & 18. They just jump out the ground at the gun harness to acheive both grounds.

I must be having bigger issues. I traced all my wires from the connector in my zapper back to the edge connector and everything seems to be in order. However, I can't get anything to register. When I very 1st tried it, I was able to cycle through the menu with the gun albeit very slowly. Now, nothing.

Maybe if I sleep on it, it will come to me in a dream.

It is likely a brightness issue. If your screen has burn-in, then that will be an issue too. You'll need to adjust the brightness level of the monitor, and check the gun after each adjustment. Also, if you have a smoked glass bezel (you most likely do) try removing the bezel, clean the monitor screen, and try the gun without the bezel installed.

Well, after I typed that I thought, "ok, one more time before I give up tonight."

So, I went back, made sure everything made a good connection... still nothing.

WTF?

Then I happen to barely touch the trigger and I get something. So I shoot a couple more times... nothing.

It seemed like if I pull the trigger too fast, it doesn't register. But if I barely touch it (i don't make the zapper click) it registers fine. I cycled through the menu then played a couple of games testing that theory. Every time I do a full quick *click*, nothing. If I barely touch, it's accurate.

So now I guess I have to figure out if there's something wrong with my microswitch in the zapper or if the trigger is slipping maybe? But at least I made progress.

thats how mine works too. ive jsut gotten used to not pulling the trigger all the way down. i may put a blocker in there to stop the trigger so anyone who picked it up wouldnt need intructions.

I wish I would have realized this the other day. It would have saved me a few blood pressure points.

I did notice I could do a full click if I pulled it slowly. But if there's more than 1 object to shoot at a time, the 2nd shot usually results in a miss.
