So the other day I turned on my Playchoice and realized it wasn't producing sound. I've tried multiple games and made sure the volume is up on the speakers. There isn't a crackling noise its just complete silence.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re-cap the audio section. Below is a chart I made for someone else. Hope it helps.

as noted about "both volume knobs" each monitor has its own amp. I highly doubt the amps on both monitors went out at the same time.

I would check that your power supply's outputting 12V first, without that you won't have enough juice to power the amps.. which explains why you have no amplifier hiss... or hum, whatever you want to describe it on a Nintendo cab. :)

EDIT: you didn't specify if it was a single or dual monitor cab. if it's a dual, then I would check 12V. if it's single, then I would rebuild the audio amp. it's only a few caps and a transistor or so.

Sorry for the delay, it's a dual monitor cab. I've verified both volume knobs are turned up. So next is to check the voltage. I have no experience when it comes to rebuilding the audio amp. Is this a pretty easy process?

yes it is if you can desolder and re-solder then it takes around 10-20 minutes for the average person.

if not then they can be sent out and repaired.

if you cannot do it i have all the parts on hand and can test them before returning them.

PM me if you need/want it done.

Peace

How much would a repair cost to get the audio working again? The monitors were capped in 2010 would it be wise to get those replaced as well?

I just recapped my dual monitor about a month ago. Got the caps for monitors and sound boards from Bob Roberts. $24.00 and a little bit of time later, the montiors work great and l have sound on both speakers. Wasn't very hard.

going even simpler, have you checked the speaker itself or the wiring connection to the speaker?

also if you had a full cap job in 2010 that should last you about 12-15 years pending nothing weird happens to your machine. something like a power surge or just really bad luck.

When I bought it the guy had recapped the monitors but he didn't mention anything about the audio.

I'll check the cables when I get off work. Thankfully though a member here has offered to fix it for me so all will be well soon enough.
