Is there a difference between a dual monitor motherboard and a single monitor motherboard for the playchoice 10 arcade?
I am looking to convert a Punchout to a PC-10.I am being told the PO harness will work for the PC-10 but a filter board will be needed.
Anyone else here actually convert one here that could lend some advice? Thanks in advance for any help. -Steve

There is a difference between the Dual Monitor and Single Monitor PCB. The Dual Monitor has 1 edge connector the Single Monitor has 2.

If converting, PO to PC-10 all you really need is the extra 20 pin(?) harness that plugs into the board. I don't think you actually need the filter board, but if you look at the manual you can figure it out.

Thanks for the answer on the board difference.

The Punchout that I have has no filter board and just connects to the single edge connector from the harness.I am unsure of another 20 pin connector that plugs into the board? I know there is a black ribbon cable which goes from the board to the filter board. But if the filter board is not needed than not sure the ribbon cable is either.

I am also wondering about how the Playchoice CP connects to the Punchout harness. It looks as if the the Playchoice has a 15 pin and a 12 pin connector. My Punchout harness only has a 15 pin connector, how does that work?

The PO filter board is different then the DM Playchoice PCB filter board. The main PO harness is the same as the DM Playchoice harness and connects to the 15 pin CP connector. Actually, there was one small revision, some POs didn't have the light blue(Azure) wire going to the 15pin CP Connector so you could double check that.

The additional harness that I referenced that you need plugs into a 20 pin header directly onto the PCB or onto the DM Playchoice Filter Board. This harness then connects to the additional 12 pin CP connector that you reference and also has connectors for the gun.

Ok,so then I would need a PC filter board so I could attach the 20 pin header to and the 12 pin connector on the CP.
Any idea who would have that harness or what it's called?

I don't think so. The PC10 harness should have the connections for the timer and the light gun. Maybe that section of the harness attaches to the PO harness?

Look up the PC10/Punchout! conversion manual and see what it has. Looks like page 13 is what you want to look at regarding the necessary harness connections.

I have looked it over a few times already.I really just need to see the guts from inside a working PC-10.

What you are looking at is the main harness and the additional 20 pin harness plus I think there are the cables for the monitor mixed in.

The 20 pin harness starts with the black connector and goes to a 12 pin connector and IIRC 2x 3 pin connectors for the gun. I think the 2 red connectors in the center are the 2x 3 pin connectors for the gun.

Here is a better pic of the additional harness needed:

Ok,so I am thinking I need that additional 20 pin/12 pin connector. That would go from the filter board to the 12 pins on the Playchoice control panel.

Got any,lol?

P.S. thanks again for all your help.

I don't have one for sale, but post in the WTB section. Lots of people parting them so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
