Started working on my playchoice 10-

Someone added a step power supply but the main unit appears to still be wired in.

This seems weird. The wall cord goes to the original ps and it's dead nothing after that. I went to check the fuse but when I twisted the whole thing collapsed inward!

Never had that happen. So question ,is there any problem with wiring cord straight to the iso transformer and the steeping power supply or was that needed because 100v Japanese monitor?

New to playerchoice. But I read Japanese ran on 100v . I thought there was an ez monitor in there but when I looked yesterday suprise it was not. What monitor is this?

Playchoices sometimes came with a k7000 with the video inversion mod. Looking at the manual, all that is stock. The transformer setup on the side of the monitor is for audio. Sanyo 20ezs and sharp xm2001s had audio amp stuff on the monitor. Since k7000 didn't, this was their solution.

There should be a transformer assembly on the bottom of the cabinet that provides power to the monitor.

These were also american built cabinets, by this point they were sourcing as many parts demostically as they could.

Mine had a k7000a. The flyback was bad so i replaced it with a 20ez I had on hand.
The one i picked up for my brother had a k7000 (not a).
It's pretty common from what i've seen around here and other people i've known to have single monitor playchoice 10's.

I don't think you can get k7000a flybacks anymore. I know years ago, they were like $100 each. But i haven't seen one for sale in a long time. So i'd have a back up plan. If a k7000 and k7000a yoke are the same, i'd get one of those and color invert it, which zenomorph has a video of. Not really hard to do and keep it as a backup.
