My first arcade project has been ongoing for a few years now. Having little time and money to work on it, leaving it tucked away in storage for a while and going through numerous moves have made it difficult to complete. Now that I have finally settled in, had some free time and money, I was able to dust it off and finish it up. I have been picking up parts here and there for a while and now that I have finally figured out that pesky light gun situation, my Playchoice is pretty much complete. There is some minor detailing to do and a game or two that I would like to add, but I thought I post it up on here anyways.
Once I finally got into the build, it was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be. The final, and hardest part, was finding and fixing a working light gun. In order to get a working light gun, I only had to buy 3 light guns and a security bit off of eBay. After that it was some research, solder and a few rum and Cokes to get them figured out, working well and looking decent. I actually managed to get a working red gun and a working black gun once it was all said and done.
I still need to do a little sanding and some paint touch up, but I am glad to say it is complete and enjoyed on a regular basis. It certainly does not look like an original (even more so on the inside than the outside) but it works and I think it looks decent. And since its intention is purely for entertainment value, none of the originality really matters, right?
The cabinet is obviously not a Playchoice original, or even a Nintendo cab for that matter. I am not sure what the cabinet was originally, but I am curious if anybody can tell from my pictures.
Opinions and criticism are welcome. If anybody knows where I can find a Hogans Alley or Wild Gunman cart it would be much appreciated. Now I think I am going to go shoot some ducks and kick Mike Tyson's ass.

I wish I had taken some before pictures, or even some work in progress pictures, but it did not occur to me at the time. I have put a few pictures on this post, the rest of the album can be found at http://forums.arcade-museum.com/album.php?albumid=335

Looks like a nice conversion buy me. Do you have the original photo's before the conversion?

OK, it is really done now. I gave up on the original look a long time ago due to the lack of a Nintendo cabinet and decided to change some things up....

Any thoughts on the red T-molding?

Or the side mounted gun?

Anyways, it is now time to focus on the next project, the NES-PC

For it being your own cab, I like the Red T-molding. Looks good with the logo and NOS CPO. Good line up of games too! You are correct: You do need RC Pro AM!

The only question is; Which game to take out?
Mario 3
Punch Out
Mario Open Golf
Dr Mario
World Cup
Pac Man (Tennis)
Tecmo Bowl
Baseball Stars
Duck Hunt
Hogan's Alley

Plus I have a Track & Field coming in and a Super C collecting dust.

Depends on what genre of game you like. You have the sports theme and 2 gun games. That being said, throw the Track and Field in, when you get it and take Mario 3 out. Take out Pac Man when you get RC Pro Am. Finally, you need to get Wild Gunman. It's the best of the 3 gun games for the PC-10. Guess you'd have to remove Dr Mario, to keep the "theme" going. Then you'd have a stellar line-up!

looks very nice. I like the red t molding and Nintendo logos on the sides. I put red molding on a vs Super Mario conversion I have. I think it looks neat on Nintendo stuff.

Thanks for the compliments guys. At first I was a little unsure about the red T-molding, but I am feeling a lot better about it now.

Notre, I had kinda thought about the sports theme before, and your suggestion inspired me. How about this lineup:
Track & Field
Mario Open Golf
Punch Out
Baseball Stars
Tecmo Bowl
World Cup
R.C. Pro Am (if I can find it)
Dr. Mario (which I will probably switch back & forth with Wild Gunman)
Duck Hunt
Hogans Alley

And this may be taking it too far, but I was even thinking about putting this decal on the sides beneath the Nintendo logo in a white, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150379277102&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I like how this cab looks. Not original, but very clean and neat none the less. The cab looks pretty much like a Dynamo Z-back cab.

I think you did a great job. I too made a wacky Playchoice-X cab last year and used red t-molding. I enjoyed how it looked when it was done.

Ive seen those cab styles at mostly larger arcades such as the Nickelodeon fun center's and Red Barron arcades, I have also wondered what originally came in those cabs, ( I beleive called a Z back?)
I like the color scheme and execution of the PC design, It looks as if that might be what they would look like if they were still being produced today!
Overall I LOVE IT
Good work!

Great cab! Goz's was great too! I love the sports theme, although I'd probably play Tecmo Bowl most of the time.

That is a hell of a cab. It may not be a dedicated PC-10, but it doesn't need to be.

And that Playchoice-X creation looks cool, as well.
