What program do you guys use to split the .nes roms when you are doing a NES conversion, so they can be burnt to Eproms like this chart shows?

Thanks,
I've tried a few different ones... I make reproduction NES games as my only real means to make money right now. I've had my best results with the hostapp for the CopyNES.

It WILL throw up a couple of errors when you start it since you won't have the hardware connected, but it will work perfectly fine. Just select "Split .NES" and select the .nes file you want. It will split it and put the PRG rom in the /prg directory and the CHR rom in the /chr directory. Simple GUI, simple to use, and perfect results EVERY time.
IF you work with a translated game or a hacked game, sometimes the people that do the hacks/translations will add a few bytes to the end of the file for their name, credits, etc etc... that will through off the file size and the CopyNES software won't split them. You'll have to go in with a hex editor and trim the fat off of the end of the file. But, that only applies to some hackes/translated ROMs, it will work without any problems with the regular files.
About forgot. That will give you your BASE PRG and CHR files... on some boards you might have to split those PRG and CHR ROMs into smaller chunks to accommodate the board. For example, if the CHR splits to a file for 128K ROMs, then you'll have to split it down again to 2 64K files in a hex editor. Once you get the .NES split, you'll be able to look at that list and see if you'll have to split them again by the number of ROMs needed. On production NES carts, there is always 1 PRG ROM, and 1 CHR ROM (or CHR RAM on some of them)... so if you see more than 2 ROMs on the list... then you might have to split something.
