Playchoice 10 Dual repair help - RESOLVED

Looks like you found the smoking gun..

Playchoice-10 Manual (Dual Monitor)

Manual shows both 9 pin and 22 pin connector on the PS

This might be a long shot… but where is the 12pin plug getting plugged in at? View attachment 774790
I'm not sure about this, but my power supply for my dual monitor has two plugins for the 9pin and 12pin wiring. You are plugging the 12pin in somewhere right? Not sure where it would go, if not the power supply?…

Possibly incorrect power supply?🧐

On my power supply there is no place for the 12 pin 😐

Do I literally have wrong power supply?

My cab has black glass two separate pieces

I would say so based on the pictures and manual. I'd try to grab the correct PS with both 9 and 12 pin connectors.

Or in a pinch you could grab a Suzzo happ switching PS and just make your own 12pin connector. Grab a 22 pin female molex (verify it's molex) and just follow the wiring diagram for +5 and +12v and ground connections when you pin it.

Basically this

The pricing in this one seems ridiculous.

If this was my cab and I couldn't find an original one I'd grab a HD switching PS and use the same set up as the Mikesarcade. That way you'd have plenty of power for the cab to operate properly.

I run a complete VS and playchoice PCB's through a switcher set up on modern PS. No issues.
I'd try to beat that guy up on eBay for the original. Sounds like some playchoices/Nintendo aren't very corporative with PS that aren't original.

Very cool😏 just speaking from what I've read on here, never tried one myself. Good to keep in mind though just in case…

Would this guy work?

I'll message the eBay guy.

I wonder why the current PS is in there…everything looked original except the service switch replace.
Looks like it would work, you will loose your coin counter as stated in the description but if you can live with that, it would get you going.

Power supply arrives Monday

Started restoring cpo, buttons, joysticks….

Any advice on getting glue off cpo?
I've sanded the decal off
But fine layer remains

UPDATE

New power supply from mikes installed.

Game still not starting. Still glitches and then game vanishes….

Original issues -

1) Intermittent power - new power supply (PS) from Mikes Arcades Solved as incorrect PS was in cabinet

2) Game would boot to menu but once selecting game bottom screen goes black then reboots to main menu and game you selected is missing despite game or game slot…….
FIX = Replaced SRAM at position 2K on board. Also added socket

I did try a new 8T bios chip from Joe @ Pc10 but ended up working with original as well

3) Other repairs = replaced RP2AO3E and socket. Replaced PPU socket.

CPO finally arrived from Escape pod graphics. Unfortunately that one they sent was damaged / wrong sizing and took forever in shipping to get here (not his fault)

Finished install today and happy with result.
Everything was removed, cleaned and painted. Joysticks refurbished.

relative hostile thread takeover: @joe3693 I require your spiritual guidance on the gun for PC-10. it had a broken blue wire, I replaced it. I have voltage on the +5V/trigger/eye wiring, but the gun still doesn't track. the trigger works, but it can't see. :)

OP: exercise caution if you ever need to take that gimmick in your picture apart
