I'm looking to get a new cpo for my dual monitor Playchoice-10, and replace some of the selector buttons. I found the overlay on ArcadeOverlays.com, but wanted to ask if anyone has used it yet? How does it look? Any issues with it not looking completely correct? I figured it looked like a pretty simple one, but just figured I'd ask before making the purchase.

Also, my select channel's enter button is a bit chewed up. I'm not entirely sure how this happened, but I'd like to replace it. Does anyone know where I can find the smaller selector buttons? I've search for a bit, but haven't come across them yet. Thanks for any help.

Cpo

The overlay looks good enough the problem is the material is too thick for this control panel with all the sharp angles.

I completely stripped and replaced my PC10 dual CPO and just over a year later the CPO material is cracking badly along the bends in the metal. This is especially true on the top rear bend that sits against the monitor glass area.

Hmm....thanks for the heads up. I was kinda worried about cracking, since that control panel does have so many bends. Might look into some other options for now, since it's not a huge rush to get this done or anything.

I think the approach taken on the curved edges that many on here have suggested is using a heat gun on the new CPO to kind of re-form it to bend around the curves.

I don't know what kind of material the repro CPOs use, but the thicker it is obviously the harder it's going to be to do without heat, so.... yeah. :)

hopefully more people will chime in about their experiences with this. the CPO on my PC-10 dual screen isn't too bad, has like a line crack on the top curve, and some peeling on the bottom one. ie: it's not bad enough to warrant me doing any work on it.

I may have a few spare Nintendo cone buttons but I would need to check at home first. Not sure what to charge for one though. The only ones I've ever seen for sale were on ebay at like $17 + shipping each back a few months ago which seems a bit outrageous to me although I do know these are not overly easy to find.

Oh, to add, I have no comment on the repro overlays as I was lucky enough to find a NOS overlay while I still had my Playchoice. I've heard they can be tough to apply due to the thickness but once they're on, if done right, they apparently look good.

If you wouldn't mind selling one (if you find them/have the available to sell), that'd be great. I believe I'd only need one, but I'll double check tonight and make sure I don't want to replace any others.

For now I'm going to hold off on the cpo. I think that'll tackle that towards the end of fixing this thing up. Thanks to everyone for the tips and help so far with this!

I have a repro overlay I just got and haven't installed it yet. I think on the back edge I may just cut it flush with the back instead of wrapping it over if it's just goind to crack. I am also waiting for a nice hot day to leave it in the sun and make it as flexable as possible befor applying. - Barry

I was debating doing something like that. If it's just going to be up against the monitor glass anyway, you're not going to see it. Let me know how it turns out if you do go through with it, I'd be interested in seeing pics as well.

No one would really notice it, besides I know at least as long as I have it no one would be touching it up that far so it shouls stay fine. I'll post pics, but I think it's still a couple months away for me. - Barry

I am working on my dual monitor PC-10 overlay tonight and am having issues with the thickness. I have not applied anything yet, but cutting the back bend may not be a bad idea since I had it bead blasted and primed flat black, I going to get the heat gun now to see how much more pliable it gets...I will let you know...

PM sent re: PC-10 cone button

I just did the CPO on my Playchoice 10. I did use that one from arcadeoverlays it is pretty thick and I used a heatgun to soften it up and get it on. It looks really nice and I like it. here's pictures. The only one was pretty bad so I thought it was worth the change to give it a shot.

All I need to do now is make a new toe kick, this one was pretty water damaged , and maybe paint the coin doors.

Looks great, here is mine too, from arcadeoverlays. I decided to paint my hardware flat black and I like the looks of it. I thought the quality of the overlay was pretty good actually, I did cut off the back side to try and avoid cracking at the bottom rear...well see...
