I picked up a playchoice 10 countertop, and the first players "B" button doesn't work. I checked the micro switch, made sure the connector on the PCB were seated properly, and also the plugs on the filter board that press into the PCB. Thats when I noticed something. see photo ( http://anideadesign.com/playchoice/playchoice-board.jpg ) Im guessing C17 is suppose to have a ceramic capacitor. If so, is this what is causing my button to not work? and what capacitor should be there?

Thanks for any help, as I am a complete novice at all of this.

Looks like C17 is supposed to be missing. Take your button assembly apart and clean it. Mine would stick and not activate the microswitch and at first I thought it was the microswitch. There was alot of debris causing my switch to stick when pressed. I took it apart and cleaned with Windex,,,problem solved...

Yes there is suppose to be a capacitor at C17. You can try to unhook the wires going to the player two button and connect them to the player one button to narrow down your problem. If it works on the player one button then you know it's the microswitch. If it doesn't work then you know its either the wiring, board issue or that capacitor.

Yeah I already tested the microswitch and it works perfectly. It has to be the board, or specifically the c17 cap. Just wondering if c17 actually relates to my button problem, or if its causing a problem I just havent discovered yet.
