Want to cap my Playchoice and VS.
I know VS is Sanyo.

Cannot find what type my Duel Screen Playchoices are?
Are these Sayo? Where to look for brand name?

Also want to buy the kit. Any recommendations. (looks to be several different types depending on the type of cap you are doing.) Any explanation here is greatfull.
Also need instructions on how to switch out directions if you can direct me to a good link.

(I am a Newb but not newb enough to know that monitors kill.) A newb at capping.

Thanks for all your help.

if its a sanyo i can sell you a complete HQ kit.

take some pics to see what you have.

and update your profile with a general location and maybe someone close to you can come by and help out.

Peace
Buffett

Send your all your chassis' to an expert; you'll be much happier in the end.

Finally got this board out tonight. It is a Sanyo EZ monitor.
My first board removal. 2nd discharge. And still here.
Looking for a good quality, good price, good instructional cap kit.

If you need instructions to do a cap kit, I would suggest taking it to a professional. You're likely to make things worse if you don't know what you're doing.

how are you suppose to learn if you just send it to a pro? the first chassis I capped took me three hours and I had no idea what I was doing. Granted a go-7 would be alittle easier for your first cap job not an ez20 but if you get it done on an ez the rest of the classic monitors are easy.

I feel the EZ's aren't too bad to learn on. everything's labeled extremely well. you'll have a more difficult time getting the thing apart than installing the cap kit on them lol.

K7000s are decent too, if you have a cap map, otherwise you better be good at scraping that orange stuff off to figure out the cap locations.

that said, I agree, how can you learn if you have someone else do it for you? key part about capping monitors is that it's not a race. always ensure you're installing the correct caps where they belong and that you're doing good solder work and not creating solder bridges and the like. and if you happen to torch a solder pad, you better know how to improvise. first monitor I ever did was a Hantarex Polo, then a WG U5000. you "learn" quick off those.

I realise everyone has to start somewhere, but I don't see the point in doing a dodgy job that might not even work, you should at least have basic soldering/desoldering skills before attempting something like this in my opinion.

Notice all the posts on here which are along the lines of "I recapped my monitor and now it doesn't work"? That's what happens when you don't know what you're doing.
