Play games for free at Logan Hardware in Chicago

They held a Donkey Kong class with Steve Wiebe a few years ago back when they first added on the arcade. The guy who runs it is on KLOV occasionally as well.

Good stuff...

I live a few blocks from there and drive by all the time but I have never been in there. I don't own a record player, so I'd feel weird just going in and playing the games without buying anything.

But I also haven't even gone to Emporium barcade yet, which is also close by :/

hey guys,
come on over and say hi, ask for me (zespy) i'm around most of the time.

we just rebuilt the flippers on 4/5 of the pins yesterday and they are snappin'! i still have some repair to catch up on for the vids though. i'm on here pretty often looking for repair tips and info but i don't post much at all. any suggestions on the collection are greatly appreciated, let me know what you think!

On Saturday, the main arcade was full of younger folks having fun. Lots of laughing, which is a sign of a good arcade. When we were leaving Sunday, I watched a Dad holding up his child to play Star Wars. That's the spirit I love to see.

Jim seems to have a knack for vector games. That was an impressive surprise. Playing a Star Wars with a bright crisp monitor and well-tuned yolk. I couldn't get enough of playing that since it has been so many decades since I had access to one. Tempest was in great condition, too. Gravitar and Major Havoc, too.

Definitely a place to bring your family to experience a blast from the past in classy style.

Did you get a chance to go to galloping ghost? What did u think if you did?

no we didn't. we left Chicago at noon Sunday to try to beat the storm that came up from Missouri. Drove back in snow most of the way but no accumulation.

I have intended on visiting them sometime. Have seen their games at MGC in Milwaukee in the past.

just checked out your site, very cool!

This place is awesome and you should all go there. As an avid fan of vinyl AND arcade games, this is pretty much paradise. If they had a bar, you'd probably have to drag me out.

hey,
totally, no need to buy the usual suspects like vinyl, cds, tapes or dvds. the games are all free for our customers so we carry a ton of fun stuff, small items, candy, toys, trinkets, buttons etc. even the smallest purchase is cool. also, for anyone in the hobby, just drop me a line before you come over and ill say hi!

So I mean, I don't even own a record player, is it still cool to come in and check out the games?
