Does anyone have any recommendations for a play-field restoration. I have seen several places that will repair and restore play-fields and was looking for recommendations from people who have had it done. -Thanks

Yeah, the machine matters. Is it mylar, diamond plate, laquer?

Is there significant paint missing?

Etc.

If you are wanting showroom quality, you will have to strip it down 100% and ship it off a pro...but don't get in a hurry. Most of them have backlogs and you shouldn't expect to be playing on a minty fresh playfield for over a year from the date you first inquire.

If you have a game with only minor damage, then you might find someone local to clean it up nicely for you. It may not be showroom finish, but you also won't pay showroom prices.

There's a few places that can/will restore the playfield but there's 3 things that need to be considered.
1.) an average budget resto cost is $500-$600 - are there rpro fields available and if so how much? How much can you buy a used playfield for?
2.) Most resto places typically quote 3-6 months. Can you be without it for that long?
3.) How much is the game in question REALLY worth? If the correction being made puts you at or over value then why not dump it and look for a better candidate?

The Machine is a Dr. Dude and the graphics are worn on the thermometer starting to see some spots of wood and there is wear on the magnet about 1/4 inch around is wood. Anyone have a NOS playfield? Also looking for some new plastics - I really like the game its allot of fun. Had a TZ and didn't play it nearly as much.

If you decide to send your original out to be restored do a lot of research. I had a bad experience and I could tell you who NOT to go with :)
