First - I dont need to hear any comments saying - why did you waste your time on this game.... the reality is - I DID put a lot of time into this thing.
I purchased this game with a bunch of other machines about a year ago.
The game had really bad water damage on the left side as well as some on the front of the cabinet. The area where the control panel hooks on to the game was all busted out from the water damage. The good thing was - I plugged it in - and it worked! So as much as I wanted to part it out - I decided against it and started taking it apart to restore it.
Here are a few pics of the machine as I found it.

Started with the control panel - did a deep cleaning and repainted the bolts holding the joystick on and cleaned the buttons... came out nice!

Removed the entire left side of the cabinet. Replaced with a new side. Ended up replacing some front and back pieces as well.

Taped up the side art (no replacement available)

Started to prep it for paint

Primed the cabinet and then painted the brown.
The following day I painted the black on the inside of the cabinet.
Then I installed new T-molding.

Took the coin door apart and completely refinished it... then started to reassemble.
There is no art available so I used a heat gun and carefully removed the art from the water damaged side of the cabinet that I had removed.

Reapplied the art (even though its not perfect) to the NEW side.

Still need to install the plexi over the monitor but you get the idea...

I think it is cool that you restored a game that most would not think to restore. I love reading these and seeing pics. What are you going to do with it? Keep it I hope.

after this - I think I will probably keep it for now.

Thanks for the support = most everyone would say scrap it - but I just couldnt do it to this one - not sure why. Glad I didnt - its kinda cool!

No way man! Great job. You obviously love this hobby/vocation/sickness.
Good job!

No matter how you cut it that was some good work! Excellent job.

Very nice job on the resto! I really love the colors on that cabinet. They make an interesting combination that you don't see too often.

Very well done! It looks great even with the side art in the shape that it is. A testament to your skills getting that side art off and reapplying it again. It takes a lot of patience. And I agree the colors are a unique combination.

First off, that game looks fantastic! IMO you did the hobby one heck of a favor bringing that thing back :). How exactly did you remove the side from the game though.

Thanks man - I just used light heat from a heat gun - a razor blade and a lot of time and patience...
