Plating: Chrome, Brass, Black Nickel, powder coating for games...

So in the evenings, for months now, I've been working to help Mike Chestnut's dad with outstanding orders with Mike's biz after we lost Mike in an accident. Mike had THE plating biz in the pinball hobby and did a fair amount of work for us arcade guys too, Tapper, Paperboy etc. It looked as if another person was going to take this biz on and run it but eventually decided it was not for him, after that happened his dad asked if I would like to take it and run with it as apart of Hot Rod Arcade. So today we are announcing what we've been working on. We will have more added to the site with a store in the future but we wanted to go ahead and get something up and going. Check it out and let us know what you think. We have many plated pinball parts in stock but are glad to get whatever done you have needing some love. Thanks!

How confident are you guys in coin door powder coating? I've got a raised letter door I'd like to have done but I've held off because the raised lettering seems like it would throw off most.

I'll hijack and tack on I'm also interested in this question.

There was a guy on here a couple of years that was selling a powdercoating service. I had my SW cp doors and door parts done. The work is awful, looks really thick, syrupy and shiny. He lost some parts for a while. I just wrote it off as glad I got them back.

I may be interested in having some parts powder coated IF you can strip the old powdercoating off?

I would like to wait before doing it, let me have some done etc. Plating we've done a ton of. Powder coating is new to us - not the shop working for us though. I want to play with a few pieces before doing it - hence why on my site it says coming soon. I think we can get it figured out. Who knows, I might even have one of my Gottlieb raised letter doors done just to test it on one of my own first. I think I have a couple of them.

Hope that makes sense. Just want to know exactly what we'll get before taking someone else's.

I should have known that question would come faster than I thought, lol.
In the mean time, send those Tapper cupholders and footbars to be brassed! We also just finished a set of Paperboy handlebars. :)

Good luck in your endeavors! Much needed thing to have someone pick this up.

I have question on the Tapper cupnholders...you're able to brass plate pot metal?

Thank you so much for the encouragement! We've stepped tall to make all of this happen.

Yes we can brass plate pot metal. Now, with that said, if often leaves small porous spots here or there in it, but it still looks so much better. I've done 4 sets of them for tappers I've done to sell. If you'd like to see pics of one done, check this one out off of my page:

That looks great!
I know pot metal can be trying to do....Looks like you got your stuff down. :)

Again. Going to be great to have someone take this on. Best of luck. Can't wait to see you pump out some great pieces!

Shout out to Mike Chestnut and his dad.

This is very cool and will keep Mike's passion alive.

Holy balls, that BK2K restore on your FB page is glorious. Wish you guys were in California...

How much do you charge for restoring a pin on average? Like if it just has some playfield wear and needs some scratches here and there.

awesome news!

I have meet the blue hair guy from Nashville and he seems like a stand up guy. I have also never heard anything negative about him.

how much to plate my tapper holders and bar?

Your Tapper brass plating pics look great!
I'm in to get this done. LMK how to proceed. Thanks.

Sorry guys, just back from church, and I will say to always make sure you get me email me at [email protected].

Here's the deal on tapper, do know that the process does leave them coming back with minor porous spots in it here or there, I've never seen it not do it. Just something to do with it being pot-metal. Just so you know, I don't want that to be a disappointment to anyone. Your bar and caps are actually brass so we polish those to match and then clear them. All part of it. More than likely you will see dents in your bar from people putting their feet on them that you didn't notice before, so be ready for that too. All brass plating gets clearcoated.
All in all, it all makes them look amazing. I've done 4 sets now and I always love the look they ad.

To do cupholders, bar, bar endcaps, and the four coin bucket carriage bolts is $225 plus shipping, so say $250 shipped.

EMAIL ME ORDERS PLEASE SO I CAN TRACK YOU. [email protected]
Go to my website for shipping instructions after you email me. http://www.pinballplating.com/contact/

When they are done I will send them back done with an invoice that you can pay by check or paypal/friends/family. Yes, going old school and it allows you to approve of them before paying. This is the way Mike did it and this is the way I'm doing it. :)

I am on vacation this week. I would recommend shipping your stuff at the end of this week we are about start. Pack them well, we will reuse your packing to return them to you UPS.

That Gottlieb raised letter door exactly what I'm looking to have done so let us know how it turns out!

Thank you guys for the support. It's much appreciated! When I get back from vacation I'll see about having a coin door powder coated. I'm sure it will be fine but I want to see it for myself. It'll be nice to have it done and put on my Mad Planets. Who knows. I may have one or two of those doors for sale after I have them done. I have few.

Lets go ahead and get this one out of the way too, since I'm getting messages about it:

Chroming Paperboy Handlebars:
It depends what parts you want done. We just did all six pieces, including the mount it swivels on under the control panel, as you see it when you turn. Some paint it black and other things too. If you want all six pieces it's $250 plus shipping.

If you want just the handlebars done and the pieces that screw on them (4 pieces) then I can do that for $175 plus shipping.

Add $30 for the center piece that the overlay goes on, not much of it's seen as the overlay covers most of it. Glad to help if I can!

Chris
