Never played it.
When the fighting games took over the arcades I was long gone from the scene.
I've owned a few fighting games - SF II CE, Mortal Combat, SNK vs Capcom II, Marvel vs. Capcom, Marvel vs. Streetfighter.
I'd say that Marvel Vs. Capcom or Marvel Vs. Capcom II is probably the best of the genre.

In this same vein, I always liked Primal Rage for some reason. It actually is almost as bad.

My best friend LOVED Primal Rage. I couldn't stand that game. I was a pure blood Mortal Kombat fanboy.

Primal Rage was ok, It wasn't great but it wasn't half bad.
How can you not love a game that piles up cash at your feet while they raise you on a fork-lift.

I still like Primal Rage - more than Pit-Fighter. The PF music and sound effects were hilarious to me. Think I have PF for my Sega Genesis.
That I admit is awesome.
Also I like primal rage which someone said is almost as bad. Just personal preference I guess. Going over it again pit-fighter isn't TERRIBLE, but its not something I'd want to play.

It is all a matter of perspective. The first fighter I remember in the arcades was Street Fighter (the first one, not II). It was a good game but the controls seemed sloppy and the graphics/sound weren't very good compared to the side-scrool beat-em ups of the time. The next fighter I saw was Pit-Fighter. Much better graphics but the same difficult controls. Finally, Street Fighter II was available to play locally and I never had to worry about non-responsive game play again. Mortal Kombat never truly piqued my interest...
From this perspective Pit-Fighter had its place but just doesn't hold up well over time.
Primal Rage was bad... but not as bad as Time Killers. Now that game was truly awful.

I find it incredible that anyone liked it even when it was new. It is the worst game I remember playing in the arcade.

Really? I remember hating Return of the Jedi, Qix, Ataxx, and a few others to the point that I wouldn't even consider playing them. Pit-Fighter wasn't a very good game to play alone but it did have the head to head feature and that made it much more fun.

I think Pit Fighter is an awful game as well. I have 2 working Pit Fighter boards i will sell for 20$ shipped each. Good deal because they are pretty big boards. I imagine I will have these until they hit the dumpster. You cant give them away.

Yeah the boards are pretty big, would be pretty much giving away.
LOL street fighter the movie was HORRIBLE. my god.. I don't know whats worse, that or pit fighter. I grew up on SF and MK and my biggest hobby right now is 2-d fighters. The original street fighter as well, the move list was the same as today but for some reason they were impossible to pull off.
