Any of you guys remove the boat guard for home use? I hate the look of it but don't want to see the boat get thrashed which is why it's there I assume?

I removed it on mine. I never had an airball hit the boat although I've read reports of it happening. It is also there to keep balls from getting stuck on the ship or the Tortuga. Not a big deal at home, but not something you want happening on location.

I'm sad. My local location that had one of these ditched it for AC/DC. I don't think it was a bad deal for them, just wish they'd have gotten rid of something else. All their other machines are chronically broken, and Stern NBA just sucks balls. :|

I had one on my game for a couple years in commercial service. Not one scratch on it, so I removed it. Figured no scratches, balls weren't getting up there.

Within in a couple days balls nailed both sails and broke them. $37 for new sails.

LTG :)

Wow! I had mine in home use, took off the sneeze guard and it was fine. I never saw one airball on that game.
