this is weird i know,i dont care for pins with no pop bumpers.
i also prefer pins that have a manual plunger.i will still play any pin at least one time. and i would own a pin with auto plunger.i just prefer the manual type.

Possibly controversial, but one of the things I don't like about Big Buck Hunter is the Buck.

That said, it's not that I don't LIKE the game, I just don't care for it too much and won't go out of my way to play it.

The problem with the buck is it's too much of a death shot, combined with it being the main toy of the game. I'm fine with randomizers (like the spinning discs on Whirlwind - love them, in fact). But the discs aren't the main feature of WW. The buck is.

I decided after around 10 games to try and avoid the buck as much as possible and realized the rest of the game is somewhat boring.

I think they have done a much better job with IM and Avatar lowering the luck factor so I much prefer those games.

Im not a huge fan of drop targets, but my Vector and Flash Gordon have them.

An older pin is really awesome in my book, based on the artwork and odd playfields.

However, playing my Johnny Mnemonic puts an enormous sized smile on my face. :D

I too don't like pins with the pushbutton for launching the ball. There's just something about using the shooter rod to start the game.

Can't stand pins with sports themes either lol.

I enjoy skill shots with the plunger as well... but, with that said, some of my favorite pins have button launchers.

There's almost nothing I don't dislike, but I will say I'm STRONGLY leaning towards pins in the DMD, post DCS era. I think it's because I got into pins very very late, but I really don't like most games without a DMD. Some I think are awesome, like Scared Stiff and Funhouse, but I guess it's the vid player in me that needs some sort of DMD stuff going on, too. As for sound, I really can't stand pre DCS games.... that 8 bit sound bothers me, when I know there are awesome sound packages like STTNG and Shadow. I just have a hard time going back to bloop bleep bleep.

He is talking about TOTAN (Tales of the Arabian Nights) made by Williams in 1996 and NOT Totan made by Gottlieb in 1979.

Not a big fan of the Brain Bug in Starship Troopers. Too close to the flippers and just too big. Would have liked it more if it was smaller and set further back.

I honestly HATE with a passion TOTAN, because of the lamp spinner.
The spinning disks of Whirlwind are pretty close behind.

I find this interesting, because I WAS the same way. Let me say this....do you dismiss it just because of that? Have you given any real time to the machine?

Not flaming at all here, but I was in the same boat. I thought the feature was dumb and detracted from the machine, but now that I have one in the basement, it is the most played machine I have. That spinner type is actually ised on a slew of old Williams EM machines, and it actually works pretty well.

If you're ever nearby, stop over and you can have some time on TOTAN. It may change your mind. It did for me :)

I LOVE Johnny Mnemonic, but I could do without the glove feature. It takes too much time from the game (IMO). I bought a JM for my father-in-law and it's a great machine. I play it despite the glove :)

Auto Plunger has to be worst idea for a pin ever conceived! Like others say it eliminates the skill shot....

In all honesty, I haven't played it in quite a while on a live machine. There used to be a TOTAN in one of my old haunts next to a few other machines of the same era.....and they were all pretty much brand new machines at the time. The way it randomly deflects the ball is part of it, but I also disliked the twinkly sound too.

Of course, I'll admit it, it's probably a bit of an anger issue too. They replaced a White Water with the TOTAN, and White Water is probably my all time favorite machine.

You're a lucky man to have a *Williams* Totan in your collection! Would love to have one of these; just can't justify the price their going for!!

The biggest flaw I had was the ability to *cheat* and get the jewels from the bazaar and eliminate the ramp shot and hitting the appropiate spot targets...

I thought the spinning lamp toy was neat...
